Conveniently located, just a few minutes walk from the city center and 7 minutes walk from the ski slope center. There is a parking lot in front of the ski slope center, not attached to the parking lot. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very comfortable. The breakfast was so delicious that I never got tired of it even though I had it every day for 4 nights. There is an outdoor bath, Matsu no Yu, just 10 seconds walk away, which is very convenient. It's not ultra-luxury, nor is it a renovated old folk house, nor is it equipped with the latest equipment, but it's well-balanced and I'd recommend it.

The food is delicious. Both breakfast and dinner. The food, the rice (from Nozawa Onsen), the miso soup. Matsuba no Yu is next door, so you can get there in 15 seconds on foot.

4/5 only because the first room we were given smelled really badly of cigarette smoke. This is not the fault of the owners but poor guests I assume. Although, the staff was very accommodating and moved us into another room that was very comfortable with no trace of any smoke.Otherwise I absolutely love this place. It has everything you need. Amazing location, comfortable rooms and the Japanese breakfast is some of the best I’ve ever had.お世話になりました!

The lodge was extremely sweet. I was able to cross off my bucket list sleeping in a tatami mat room. Traditional futons are kept in a closet so you can lounge or prep your snow gear with an open floor. Breakfast is made by the inn keeper if you pay for it the day before. I came during a heavy snow week and the heater in the room worked amazing! All my snow gear was dried in a few hours.Bathrooms are in common areas and you have access to a private onsen in the house if you choose not to go out in town.I would love to stay here again during my next visit.

Nice basic accomodation especially if you are skiing. Rooms and amenities are basic but the location is central closed and a short walk to the gondola. The communal bathhouse is only open from 5pm-10pm so keep that in mind. We would have liked to have been able to wash ourselves in the morning and only during restricted hours. The accomodation has a lock in which is not something that I’ve ever experienced before. You are expected to be back by 11pm and the doors are locked until the owner wakes and opens it. We tried to leave the accomodation at 6:20 am to catch a 6:30am bus but we’re unable to as the doors were locked and we couldn’t leave, unfortunately missing our bus. This is a little concerning given that you are unable to leave the accomodation during the night, especially in the case of an emergency. However, nice accomodation other than the bathhouse hours and the lock in.

Both good and bad...|Location is great, within short distance from both village center and ski gondola.|There is a local (very hot!) Onsen next doors. Perfect after a full days skiing up the mountain! …
