During the holidays in May, I stayed at Wisteria Park in Shirai Omachi and saw the nine-shaku wisteria at Hyakugo-ji Temple. It's a guesthouse, so there is a shared space, but unlike in the city, it's very orderly and clean. It seemed like there were students from overseas coming to help out on a short-term basis, and there were about 4 of them, mostly from Europe. In the evening, the owner, the young man, joined us for drinks!Through trial and error, I was searching for the perfect form for a guest house in the countryside.I was impressed to see that there seem to be a certain number of overseas travelers who are trying to find the essential character of the country in the Japanese countryside.I think there is something memorable about just spending some quiet time. There are two guest rooms that can accommodate a total of about 10 people, and each room has a hearth and you can also have a BBQ. Parking space available. There is a lodge-like space outside the dining area, with a pleasant view of the Kako River and the sounds of wild birds.

I had a very good stay in this guesthouse, the welcome from our hosts was very pleasant, we slept well in comfortable beds. We were able to cook and eat a typical Japanese barbecue, it was a great time! I recommend this establishment.

I really loved my stay in this family gest house. The rooms are very clean and the common areas particularly friendly. We were even able to have a Japanese barbecue in a special room. Our host Fuuga spoke perfect English which was very handy. He showed us around the region, showing us beautiful hiking trails, and all the nice things to do around the gest house. There is also a really cheap car rental service right in front of the house, if you want to plan excursions. It's easy to get to Kinosaki and Ine, two beautiful places that border the Sea of Japan. In short, I recommend the stay, it's perfect for enjoying the countryside, relaxing in peace and discovering another, more authentic Japan :)

This guest house is large and very pleasant to live in! The house is in a quiet street and the garden overlooks the river.Wood is omnipresent and makes the places warm and rustic in the best sense of the word. When you go to the Japanese countryside, that’s what you’re looking for, isn’t it?The day of our arrival we were able to prepare a barbecue in the dedicated room, what a joy in winter to be able to get together around a good meal in such a cool place! Our host Fuuga was very friendly and made our stay as easy as possible.I recommend this guesthouse for all travelers who wish to visit this region and those surrounding it.Thanks again for our stay!

This is a guest house. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there was only one group staying instead of the usual 3 groups, so we were able to relax quietly. The location is a little far from the city, and there are no shops nearby, but you can purchase basic items such as alcohol and cup noodles inside the guesthouse.

It was very helpful for me to be able to check in early. It was my first time to stay in a guest house, but I was able to have a good rest. I may have been inconvenienced because I didn't know what was going on, but it was a very meaningful stay. Thank you very much.
