Held a yoga retreat here in mid-June. Place was perfect for it, very relaxed and laid back vibe. Rooms were mostly classic Japanese style with tatami mats and very comfortable. Amazing views out the windows. Commons and breakfast area also served as the yoga space and was great. Nice and quiet in the green season, everything a relatively short walk away. Staff was amazing; everyone very friendly and took good care of the retreat-goers. Place was very well maintained, clean and comfortable. Could not have had a better experience!

Stayed there for 7 nights with my family (2Adult + 2 Kids under 5) mid March room 403. The place is not bad, Bedroom is OK however it's really hard going up and down on the stairs. The staff was not friendly and Not helpful at all. Breakfast was boring dead and don't have alternative for people like me who don't eat pork or someone who's vegetarian and far away from healty Breakfast as the website said. Their website said if you stay for more than 3 nights your room will be get clean but in reality Is never get clean during our 7 nights stay so it's a big "LIE" they can't even provide a rubbish bin (I Asked for it but one of the staff said we don't have one) so our room is smells very bad with all rubbish during our 7 nights stays. Everytime we ask for something the staff always Ignore and they all look miserable. There's not many restaurants around/in town to go for

Great cost effective place to stay with very cute traditional ryokan rooms. They even drove us to the bus stop area on our last day. The location is out of town but close to one of the lifts and everything is within walking distance anyway . The shared ownership of the ski hire worked well too as they were able to have our stuff delivered, and then we could leave it there at the end of our stay. Thank you!!

Very comfortable accommodation in self contained Snow Shack with daily breakfast in adjoining lodge. Great size room/space. Simple but tasty breakfast options, very easy walk to ski chairlift. Friendly staff and great integration to book ski lift passes, ski rentals and ski lessons through website or front of house.

Three of us stayed here for our ski trip and had a lovely time. We had a wonderful view of the village with a cute little balcony. Our room was nice, part Japanese beds and part Western.  …

Bit of a disappointment… can do much better.|Poor breakfast… no selection, Aussi sort-of, not Japanese.|Tiresome young overseas staff. |Overpriced bar|Crowded lounge too small for number of guests|Very average rooms with no on-suite, cold communal showers & toilets|Go elsewhere, there’s cheaper & better available

We stayed for a week. Breakfast was awful. The whole place was a very Australian experience. Not what I come to Japan for! We certainly would not return. |The rooms do not have toilets. Most showers are in the basement. The onsen nearby has incredibly hot water and hence is unusable.

Clean, modern. Hard working and helpful English speaking staff. Different delicious breakfast each day. No onsen but there's a traditional one just down the street.

We stayed in the Villa Nozawa Snow Shack for the first part of our honeymoon and we cannot speak more highly of the experience.First off, a special shout out to Cassie, who right from check in made sure that every detail was taken care of. From giving us a comprehensive introduction to the area, booking our ski lessons, organising gear hire, booking reservations for meals for us, getting fire wood and even organising a special bottle of wine for our honeymoon. Cassie is calm, organised and frankly deserves a pay rise :)Villa Nozawa is clean, with commitment to cleanliness being obvious throughout. The communal area is warm and inviting, with the fire drawing in parents for some kid respite with an Asahi from the vending machine.Villa Nozawa is clearly geared up to be kid friendly, which is excellent for families. On Christmas day we all met for some mulled wine for the big kids and origami for the little ones. Many rosey cheeks to be seen. For the childless, the Snow Shack provides complete privacy and silence for relaxation, so we would recommend this option.Re: ski gear hire and lessons, there are cheaper options in town if you do your research, but the whole process was so simple and seamless that it was worth it for us to go through Nozawa Holidays. We were happy with our lessons and didn't end up needing a second one.Overall, we highly recommend Villa Nozawa and wish to sincerely thank the team for making our stay so special.
