The ski resort is in front of you and it's the best place.Last year, we had a Western-style room, which was really nice, but this time, we had a Japanese-style room.I thought the room felt a little old. It's not that it's dirty or anything. Is it because I made a late reservation?Maybe it was the only room available.Next time, I will make a reservation early and get a better room.

I don't want to give even one star for the service.Front desk response is really badThe facility, which can be used from 9 a.m., is pitch black even after 9:40 and the lights aren't on. The same thing happened on Saturday and the following Sunday, and both days I went to the front desk to ask for help, but I was told "please wait", and after a while they went to give me something like a breaker. The electricity was turned on, but the staff never came to visit or say anything after that. Normally, you wouldn't come to tell me how much I've kept you waiting, would you? It's not that the person who dealt with me happened to be bad, but both of the staff members who dealt with me had the same impression, so I thought it was probably a high-quality inn.The location is okay, but I won't come again

I wasn't surprised as I had read the reviews and thought, ``I see.'' I had gotten the information beforehand, but the reviews are exactly what I expected. The hot pot dish for dinner was beef shabu-shabu.I was impressed that the meat was so red even though it wasn't even a fillet.Naturally, there's no fat on it, so it's hard, smelly, and tastes bad. Also, the ponzu sauce used for this tastes bad. Would I have been able to eat Mizkan's Ajipon a little more properly? You can choose your favorite side dishes in a buffet style. Is the taste ok? It's not delicious, but it's not inedible.I appreciate that they have a small selection of desserts, but as of around 7:20 pm, they had run out of vanilla ice cream (in large commercial-sized packs).``Could you please replenish the vanilla ice cream?'' I asked the staff member, and she replied, ``Limited to one piece per day.''Huh? If you're a Viking, replenish your supplies. I don't want facilities to impose their own rules on customers.Half of the products in the vending machines are sold out and are out of stock. Many parts of the facility are broken, but they are not being repaired. The parking lot was small and inconvenient, and it was full so I couldn't park. For less than 10,000 yen, I can live with something like this, but I wonder if I can get this quality for 16,000 yen.

Room was very tired and in need of repair. Futons were old and lacking any cushion. Toilet was too small and smelt of urine as it seems cleaning isn’t something they do here. 7 day stay and never was the room serviced and I don’t think it was cleaned before we arrived. Heating was noisy and woke us every morning at 6am banging and clanging. Restaurant was very basic and zero hospitality from the staff. Felt more like a school camp than a hotel design for tourists. I’d recommend you stay away unless skiing is all you care about.

It's a few minutes walk to the slopes, so it's close. The room was cold when we first entered the room, but it got warmer the second day.

Clean, comfortable and very convenient for ski lifts, bus stop, the only bar in Shiga Kogen etc. I'd stay here again. We had a western room with private bathroom. But I would caution that some of the things mentioned in the other reviews can create a not so good first impression. The heating and lights are off from 10-3:30, which was OK once we got the room warmed up on the first night, but does take a bit of getting used to. The decor is very 1980's, but we found it clean so was not a problem. Reception is on the second floor, so when you first arrive in a cold dark entrance, it seems like the place is closed. When the heating is on the room is super toasty, the onsen is good with a small sauna also. The breakfast is basic but reasonable. We didn't eat here in the evening (no veg options). Yes there was big school groups (we stayed at Christmas), but we had no wi-fi issues at all - it was very good in fact, and they herded the school groups into one area at breakfast, so it wasn't a huge issue. So overall, because it's Shiga Kogen and even the Prince Hotel can be a bit weird, I'd stay here again. (do bring a pillow if you can't cope with a hard japanese one!)
