LAMP Iki

We decided to stay on Iki island without knowing too much about it. We were blown away with its beauty and the hotel we decided to stay at for our short stay. We loved how the hotel still had its traditional Japanese style infrastructure on the outside, with modern and spacious entities on the inside. The staff were super friendly and accomodating. The brewery and restaurant next door provided us with our best meal on our Japan holiday, using Iki ingredients. The sauna on the rooftop was the perfect end to a perfect stay!

Super kind and nice staff who gave many recommendations. Lovely Japanese style rooms. The optional sauna and private rooftop bath was great and so worth it (¥3000 per person). In a fantastic location! We stayed on level 3! Would stay again and recommend. Thanks guys!

There aren't many restaurants nearby, but it's a quiet place and close to the port for Tatsunoshima.

When I actually went inside, it was much deeper than it looked from the outside, and the private room was large enough for one person to stay in. The toilets and showers are shared, but they are well kept and feel clean. When I told the staff that I wanted to use the washer and dryer, they apparently didn't rent them out, but they kindly let me use the washer and dryer they use for business purposes for 200 yen.Since the check-out is self-checkout, there is basically no contact with the staff other than check-in.It's the perfect place to stay as a base for sightseeing in Katsumoto.Unless you really hate saunas, we strongly recommend that guests try the sauna here.Once you get into it, you'll understand.

There are buses from Ashibe Port, but they are very infrequent so it is better to check the times.The inn is a renovated inn that was built nearly 100 years ago, and although it is old, it has a nice atmosphere because it has been beautifully renovated.There is a craft beer shop across the street, and the Tatsunoshima sightseeing port is within walking distance, so it's recommended if you're staying in the Katsumoto area.It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the convenience store.There are also several restaurants within walking distance.It was great to be able to use the rooftop sauna for private use.There are also many comics and magazines in the lounge, so you can laze around and kill time.Breakfast was available at a brewery next door and was delicious, but I was disappointed that there wasn't enough rice and I couldn't get another refill even though it was OK.Overall, I was very satisfied, but the one thing that bothered me was probably because of the season and the location of the room, but there were a lot of mosquitoes outside the window, and it's an old building, so if you look closely, there's a gap in the window. Some mosquitoes came into the room.It would have been nice to have mosquito coils or a spray that would eliminate mosquitoes with just one push.I got stung in several places while I was sleeping.I was also surprised when a staff member suddenly came in to check the water temperature while I was in the sauna. I would like the water temperature to be adjusted when replacing the sauna. Suddenly there was a huge knock on the door, so I was in the middle of getting ready and it was scary.It can't be helped because it's an old building, but there's a lot of noise, so you might want to be careful if you're traveling with small children.I could hear snoring from the next room, but there were earplugs in the bathroom.However, this is a highly recommended inn for those who like sightseeing in Iki Island and saunas.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! They also speak very good english. The House is beautiful and very cozy with an atmosphere, perfect for relaxing. The breakfast ist super delicious and it was, especially as non-japanese person, a great experience.

Sauna is the best!It’s great to take a bath in the open air while looking at the port in front of you.
