Ashigaru Ryokan

If you call the ryokan after arriving at the station, they will come out to meet you and take you to the hot springs for a round trip before dinner and a round trip after dinner. They only take you to check-out the next morning!Anyway, the dinner dish is amazing.

What impressed me most was the rice cake. The rice cakes that had been slowly grilled over charcoal were soft and shocking, as they were completely different from the rice cakes I had eaten before. It was so delicious that I asked about it and was told that it was the proprietress' special rice cake. Used when traveling alone. It was great.I was tired from the long drive, so instead of walking around Kinosaki Onsen, I just lazed around in my room.The view from the window was also nice. You can see a big river, mountains, the sky is wide, and sometimes a train runs by...it's so soothing.The hearth food for dinner is also great. Seafood and meat were standard, but the rice cakes were amazing. Grill slowly over a distant fire and season with soy sauce or sugar soy sauce. . . However, since I don't like eating baked rice cakes as is, I decided to try it with a delicious soup! I had it as an instant zoni. It grew like a manga. It was delicious. (I don't really recommend this because if it gets stuck to the bowl and dries, it will be difficult to wash.)I ended up ordering a second helping of breakfast, something I don't usually do.We enjoyed the hot springs leisurely before breakfast. Apparently it's open 24 hours.It was a private room, and the view from the large windows was nice.Although it is an old building, it is clean and small, and the staff are friendly and you can have a pleasant conversation.What do you mean? It looks like you were taken care of by a relative's house? That's how I feel.Because of the atmosphere, I think it might be a little difficult for people who prefer a hotel with a completely private space like a business hotel.I would definitely use it again.Supplementary information below.The road to the inn is narrow. And it's steep. I'm a little nervous, but there are signs along the way. When you reach a bend, keep your head strong and move slowly until you reach the end.The stairs at the inn are a little steep. Please be careful if you have concerns about your feet.The toilet, sink, and refrigerator are shared areas.The room is a pure Japanese style room. The way it locks is a little unique (I know people from the Showa era).The bath is not large. The washing area and bathtub are close, so you need to be careful.Only one bath towel is provided, but there are many hand towels in the changing room.Apparently there is no problem with bringing your own drinks, but they do sell them as well.Although it is an old building, there are few electrical outlets in the rooms. If you are unsure, bring an extension cord or multiple taps.It's an analog hotel, so you can't pay by credit card on-site, but there was Wi-Fi. I don't think it's that strong so I shouldn't have high expectations, but I think I can at least look up information on tourist spots for the next day.
