If you are planning on visiting the mirror lake, this is definitely the place to stay. The location is quite inconvenient unless you have a car. The couple who run the place is extremely friendly and love people very much. Before our visit, they even went to check the condition of autumn leaves in order to let us know whether it's a good time or not. Service is definitely one of a kind.Food here is very simple yet very satisfying. (In a very good way of course) The volume was more than we paid for. The couple bake bread in the morning and will always serve a huge basket of bread. You can bring them back if you can't finish them. They pack them for you too!The room is not exactly the most gorgeous type. It is a minshuku after all. For our needs, it was perfect. Conclusion is that, this is definitely the place to stay at if you are on a budget. Even if you are not, I would still recommend it. The bread here is on the same level as those you find in a 4-star hotel/restaurant. If not, better! Greet the couple with a big smile and they will return it ten times back :)

When I arrived by bus, the owner picked me up. The owners were a very kind couple. The facility is complete, quiet, and cozy. The bath is also big. Especially the rice was delicious.

It can be difficult to find accommodation when traveling with a cat, so I called several places in advance.Among them, Pension Komakusa had a very nice atmosphere, so I thought it would be rude to make a same-day reservation, but I contacted them and was glad that they had a pet-friendly room available.Since the pension was surrounded by greenery and there were no other guests that day, I felt safe knowing that even if the cat meowed, it would be okay. The food was rich in vegetables, delicious, and very satisfying. I was impressed by the carefully prepared food. The breakfast bread is very delicious. There were a lot of them, so if you had some left over, they would give you a bag to take home. When I talked to them, I heard that their two sons run a bakery in Nagano City, so I went there as well.

The food is just the best♪If you are not used to staying in a pensionI think there is a lack of amenities, but that's what a pension is all about. Please get along well. It's great to be greeted by the sound of birds chirping early in the morning.

If you're not used to the mountains, you'll have to walk down a narrow, dark road that will make you wonder if you're driving in a place like this! Since it is a pension, there are very few amenities, so you will need to prepare your own. The air was clean, the scenery was beautiful, and the husband and wife of the pension welcomed us very warmly. The surroundings were quiet and I had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was very delicious and I was very satisfied with the homemade bread and jam. Only one star was deducted for location, amenities, etc.

Although breakfast was included, I received some delicious bread. If you don't finish all the food, they will give you a bag to take with you. …

I stayed here while going snowboarding. The uncle and aunt were very kind and easy to talk to. However, the location is about 10 km from Nagano city, so we strongly recommend staying after shopping. There were stink bugs in the room and I couldn't sleep well. The toilets are also botton, and the toiletries are shampoo, body soap, and hair dryers, but some are broken, so please be careful as there are no towels. I stayed without meals, so I didn't have any rice, but the bread and other rice seems to have good reviews, so I'd like to try the rice next time. It would have been nice if there weren't a lot of bugs and the toilets were at least flushable...but I guess it can't be helped since it's in the mountains? Well, even though I had some concerns, it was a memorable and interesting trip. There was also a drying room.

I went on a family trip to Togakushi for the first time⭐Even though it was summer, the mornings and evenings were cold, and the air and water were clean⭐Komakusa's husband and wife were very friendly and took great care of us during our stay ⭐ Above all, the food was delicious ⭐ The focus was on wild plants and vegetable dishes ⭐ The bland taste made the best use of the ingredients and the seasoning was just right, so the whole family enjoyed it. I was hooked⭐The homemade vegetables and fruits were fresh and exquisite⭐My son runs a bakery, so breakfast had a wide variety of breads, which was like a dream. The wife's special cake was exquisite (^^)The children were also able to play around in the spacious room ⭐ I would like to visit again when wild vegetables can be harvested ⭐
