I ate Togakushi soba on the way back from visiting the shrine. I would be happy if you could stay here while visiting Okunoin Temple this winter.

lunch lunchThe soba noodles are thick and have a great texture. Since it is not a smooth type of soba, tastes vary. Rock fish sashimi is rare. It's also good to enjoy sake as a single item. The customer service guy is very polite and very likable.

One night stay on Thursday in mid-July 2024.Arrived at 4pm after visiting Togakushi Shrine. The room is a 10 tatami Japanese style room for one person. It seems that there are no hot springs in Togakushi, but the hot spring-like bath and washing area are not very large, with only three people staying, but since the inn is private, I don't think it will be crowded.Dinner will be served around the hearth. We were staying with 3 people, but when we came to the irori in the dinner hall, there was a pile of food lined up, and I thought, ``Are we sharing the table with other guests?'' I was disappointed, but there was only enough food for 3 people, and one piece of the irori was lined up. It was a meal for one person, and I was worried about whether I would be able to eat it all. Since it was a lodging inn, I assumed it would be vegetarian cuisine, but it turned out to be a happy miscalculation.Normally there would be one pot using solid combustion, but there were two. Since it's a lodging, I thought there wasn't much food, so I ordered another hot pot, so in the photo there are three hot pots lined up.The hotpot was deer and pork, and the river fish was large, odorless, and very delicious. The rice was also made in a solid fuel pot, so there were 4 pots. It was an unusual way of eating, with little rice and enjoying the roasted rice. Even though there are many dishes lined up on the desk from the beginning, the main dishes are served one after another like a course meal.I was pretty full, but the final stop was the Togakushi soba restaurant. It was chewy and delicious, and the portion was twice as much as a regular soba restaurant. The last is an ice cream dessert.I was so full that I couldn't go back to my room and have a drink. There is no morning bath, but when I asked, I was able to just take a shower, which was nice. Also, this inn seems to be related to Togakushi Shrine, and there is a shrine in the back, and if you ask, you can pray for 3,000 yen. The accommodation cost was 17,500 yen, which is not cheap, but the location was good for visiting the shrine, and the food was very good, so I didn't feel it was expensive.
