It's already been 9 years since I visited Auberge Hida no Mori to enjoy the slow flow of time and tranquility. What is necessary is provided, and what is not is omitted.White interior, deep black window frames, ivory cork woodThe floor color is close to -.Doors in oak hues.Soft lighting with adjustable light intensity.A space where you can relax and take a nap while reading your favorite book and enjoying a drink prepared by the owner. You can simply blend into the place without being dragged down by the hustle and bustle of everyday life.Just enjoying it is enough.

The food was absolutely phenomenal as were the wine pairings. The whole experience of staying at Auberge Hida no Mori is so beautifully curated, cannot fault it. Amazing design and ambience. Location being a little out of town is a good thing - it adds to the experience.

It was an auberge run by a husband and wife chef.I can't drink alcohol, but...Since it's a natural wine, I was encouraged to try a little of it, so I was able to drink it.It doesn't have the harsh taste of alcohol that makes it hard to drink! It's something you can drink. Even people who don't tolerate alcohol can drink it without any additives.Of course the food was delicious, but everything about the building was a relaxing place. The approach to the building, the day bed next to the window of the room, the forest visible from there, the trees seen from the restaurant, the large private bath, the soft and comfortable pajamas (I was wondering why they only had tops, but they sold tops and bottoms in front of the front desk) , I was wondering why there was only the upper part of the room⁇)When I opened the window, I was able to enjoy the cool breeze, the sounds of insects, and the sounds of birds, and I had a relaxing and relaxing time.

I love this place. I’ve stayed here three times now and will visit again! Such warm hospitality. The pick up drop off service to and from the station is so helpful. It’s close to the open air museum and has a play ground 2 minutes away for the kids. The food is amazing too!

Incredible food, architecture and hospitality. My wife and I spent one night here and it has been highlight of our trip so far. It feels like a beautiful fairytale lodge and the service and attention to detail are the best we’ve experienced. One of the owners, Toshi, is a chef who’s trained around the world and took great care of us in presenting each beautiful dish and wine pairing. They also made on the spot adjustments to accommodate my wife’s pregnancy and food restrictions. We will absolutely stay here again if we’re ever back in Takayama, 10/10!

It was definitely an auberge that I would like to visit again. It was a night that made me realize that I was glad I chose Auberge Hida no Mori instead of a hotel!Best of all, the food and drink experience is amazing. Everything was delicious and surprising.Personally, the best part was the owner/chef's explanation of the wines. When it comes to wine, I think there are many restaurants that explain the taste based on the region and grapes. Here, he provides easy-to-understand explanations from a chef's perspective, and his explanations are also surprising. For my wife and I, who are hungry for knowledge, we found the explanations extremely enjoyable and a very satisfying experience. After taking a bath made of cypress wood and enjoying delicious food and drinks, it's great to be able to walk a few steps back to your room and go to sleep. If I write about it in too much detail, it might spoil the enjoyment for people visiting for the first time, so I tried to write it vaguely, so I hope I can convey my enthusiasm for recommending it.

It was a wonderful inn where you could enjoy the minimalist Scandinavian design with attention to detail and the unique pairing of natural wine.It was really fun to hear a lot of stories about wine that I didn't know about. However, the main thing for dinner was spare ribs. The view from the window was of a parking lot and a forest with a miscellaneous atmosphere, so I automatically imagined it to be more like a forest bathing experience.I guess it can't be helped because of the season, but my room and hallway were full of stink bugs, and I couldn't escape the smell of stink bugs even while I was sleeping. Also, the front desk staff is very casual, so it may be a little difficult for those who are looking for Japanese-style hospitality or those who don't share the same wavelength as the particular owner.I came here looking for an extraordinary experience of enjoying nature and wine, so I'm not complaining, but I would like to point out something for future visitors. If you think of it as an overseas trip, I think it's a perfect accommodation to have an experience of this quality at this price. Also, the breakfast I had by the fireplace was really delicious and it was a blissful and relaxing time.
