The private room was clean & large. It was great for the two of us and we had everything we needed. The bathroom is great, good shower. There is a small restaurant next to the pool where you can have breakfast or lunch. The location is perfect, everything can be reached on foot.Would come again!!

Unfortunately, I had quite a few issues whilst staying here.Firstly, the staff are incredibly rude. During check in, the bed that I was shown had several dirty items all over it. I asked if maybe someone was already using that bed and the lady said ‘I don’t know, the sheet is clean’ gave me the key for the locker (which did not close) and then left. She didn’t even mention a WiFi code or anything.Second issue was with communication. I have a nut allergy. When asking the staff at the cafe on site about one of the menu items, neither of them were able to understand or provide any information. I even translated it on Google. I think it’s really important to highlight any allergies on the menu and ensure you know what’s in the food you’re serving to guests.Thirdly the WiFi is non-existent! It was quicker to use my own mobile data to load things. It always dropped out and was not strong enough to load anything. Finally, the biggest issue: two of the roommates found bed bugs and ants in their bed along with small brown stains. This was raised to the front desk staff twice but nothing was done. My friend ‘A’ was told ‘you should’ve told us earlier, my cleaning team have gone home and there’s nobody here to change it’ the two girls A & M had bites all over their legs. Bed bugs are a serious issue and the front desk lady didn’t seem to care about it at all. I work in a hostel back home and if someone came to me with this issue, I would ensure it was looked into IMMEDIATELY as these bugs are nasty and spread FAST.I decided to leave early because i did not want my clothes and bed infested with ants and bed bugs. When I raised the issue with the owner this morning. She got very angry and quite aggressive towards me saying ‘3 people have already left because their feeling sick and because of this’ we’ve never had an issue like this before etc and this was the first time she’d heard of this issue’ (which was not true as it had been mentioned 2 times earlier)Another cleaning staff member then came up to me with a bin bag full of random items taken from the room which weren’t mine and tried to hand them to me whilst I was leaving which was very bizarre! Not a nice experience, better customer service and better knowledge of the menu items is needed!

We had an ok stay in coco hostel, however the disproportionate fares set up by the staff especially in regards to their taxi service ended up being a huge disappointment that spoilt our stay there. We booked a taxi that could accommodate for surfboards and when it arrived it had no way to do this without inconveniencing our comfort inside the car. Later when we arrived at our destination the driver demanded 50k per surfboard, a ludicrous amount bordering on a scam. We are very sad that their service ended up with this kind of treatment and would recommend future clients to look elsewhere if they look for an honest and candid service.

My stay here was an absolute nightmare.1. Pilferage: For context, this hostel assigns the bunks and lockers and each of them are labeled with alphabets.I placed my backpack in a locker that was not assigned to me as mine was locked and in use. I later returned to the room and my belongings were not in the locker. I had no issues with this as I could easily retrieve my belongings from the staff room and I didn’t think much of it.However, the next day I realised that my x2 pairs of sunglasses costing $300USD each were not in my bag. I immediately questioned the receptionist and after rummaging through some drawers in the staff room, she returned them to me.The issues here are:i. The staff had no right to go through my belongings without my consent and remove things from my bag, even if it was for “safekeeping”.ii. If it was indeed for “safekeeping”, there should have been a proper log system and why was it not returned to me promptly when I retrieved my bag.iii. The staff definitely meddled with my sunglasses and took them out of the case as I found the sunglasses sitting in the case, in a position that I would never have placed them in, as it would damage the sunglasses.iv. The receptionist also remarked “Nice your sunglasses, where you buy? How much??” Which was very suspicious…2. Hygiene: On my first night, I woke up to another guest throwing up in the bathroom. The room and toilet smelled really bad the next morning. (almost puked too when I opened the bathroom door) I requested for the toilet to be cleaned, however, it still smelled so bad the next few days. It was intolerable to the point that I had to go down to use the bathroom by the pool in the morning.I understand that the guest throwing up was not within the hostel’s control but the least that could have been done was to clean the bathroom thoroughly, considering the amount of bacteria and virus from the puke.3. After all the above, when I was making payment for my booking on my last night, the staff tried to charge me more than what was reflected on my booking confirmation. She claimed that her system reflected a different figure.

A really nice hostel. Had my own room. Clean, nicely decorated and cozy. It has the typical sliding doors that you know from the corner in Bali. It's not super soundproof, but in my opinion it's not particularly annoying if you don't go to bed before 9 p.m. It's in a great location. All good restaurants, clubs or the beach can be reached. I can warmly recommend it to everyone. Oh, and the pool is really nice too.

Terrible experience, I felt manipulated. I booked 3 nights at the reception but my plans changed, wanted to cancel the following 2 nights and the receptionist said it is impossible to refund me, seriously? The most basic thing that a basic hostel like you could offer, I mean what is going on with them? Then she pretended like she is trying to help and offered me ridiculous amount money as a refund. I felt like I was being ripped off just because my plans changed. This would never happen in other hostels I stayed in Canggu ir in Bali in general. The receptionist girl is extremely rude and awkward. She had the audacity to ask “why do you say 3 days then cancel, it is your fault!“ with an absolute scammer attitude. If its the hostel rule to not refund, then it is a very disturbing way of ripping travellers off. Never ever again! Also, the music playing in the communal area is extremely loud and the sitting area is dirty, you don’t have free water filling, they charge 5K even for water! The internet is either super slow or non-existent.Probably the only hostel in Canggu that is charging for water and not offering refunds is this one!
