This is my first stay at Bessho Onsen. This is an inn with a historical feel and a nostalgic atmosphere. Although the baths are timed, I was able to enjoy three types of baths. For dinner, we had a kaiseki meal made with matsutake mushrooms, mainly large matsutake mushrooms☺️

A relaxing and quiet inn with a Japanese atmosphere.Women can borrow yukata with beautiful patterns,We enjoyed walking around the inn and enjoyed the mountain air and greenery. My overall impression is that I would like them to work a little harder on customer service.A private open-air bath was included as a bonus on a travel site, but when I went to the front desk at the reservation time, it was empty.I finally found a Nakai-san and was shown around.I thought I was going to take a bath, but the lights weren't on and it was pitch black. There was no switch, so I put on my clothes again and went to the front desk, which was still empty.I found a waiter cleaning up the restaurant,I apologized and told him that the electricity was not working and asked him to accompany me.There was a power source outside the entrance that only the employees could see.Is there still a shortage of manpower?I thought the price was on the high side for this room, food, and customer service. It's a rural inn, so I'm looking forward to its future growth.

This is a long-established establishment that has been in business for 130 years, and has guest rooms with open-air hot spring baths (15 rooms in total). Next door is the "Kitamukai Kannon-do" (founded by Ennin, Tendai sect, principal image: Thousand-armed Kannon Bodhisattva), and you can also hear the sound of the bell. We stayed at the new annex Shikitei, and the food (food from the sea and river, Shinshu beef, Shinshu rice pork, etc.; photos of some of the dinner dishes) was delicious. The quality of the hot spring water is simple sulfur hot spring. Please be careful as the bathtub can be slippery. What impressed me was how the employees responded in a timely manner. There was also a flexible response that made me want to become a repeat customer.

Expensive (relative to western hotels) but worth every dollar. Was well looked after from the moment I stepped off the train. Staff were amazing as were both the meals. Rooms were quiet, comfy and clean with all the usual amenities.I don't speak much Japanese but managed to get by without issues as some staff spoke good English.

Stayed in an annex with bed and indoor bath. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. The food both morning and night was creative and delicious, and the service was excellent. The baths were in the order of: private open-air bath > indoor bath in the main building > indoor bath in the room. The open air in the main building is small, but there were two people sitting on the edge and talking all the time, so I couldn't get in. I don't think you can enter unless the timing is right. The bell of Kitamukai Kannon rings at 6 a.m., so be careful if you don't like mornings.
