I used it during my summer vacation. It was very clean and nice. The only drawback is that the time available for bathing is short.

This lodge is near Takahata Ski Resort. Accommodation plans that include lift tickets are quite cheap. The food isn't bad either. There is a normal bath, but there is no hot spring. There are day trip hot spring facilities nearby.

I have stayed twice so far on the light collection plan.First of all, the owner and his wife are very polite and kind and teach us various things. The owner's gentle atmosphere from the kitchen of the restaurant reflects the atmosphere of this place. Both rooms I stayed in were Japanese-style rooms with 6 tatami mats, and the toilet and bath were shared. The toilets are separated for men and women.Baths are subject to availability, but there is also a hot spring nearby (please confirm business hours)Dinner included venison steak, duck meat, and sweetfish. Breakfast was Japanese food. I am satisfied with the number of items and the taste.Regarding the lamp collection that I enjoyed, if you plan to collect stag beetles using light in the summer, you will not only have to reserve a place to collect lamps (procedure to obtain a permit), but also rent a floodlight. Even families with small children can easily enjoy it. People often stay here to collect insects with serious light-collecting equipment, but whether or not you catch them depends on the weather and luck, and if you can catch them even if you rent one, you can catch them. The first time last year, the conditions were cold and foggy, but although everyone around me had given up, including the people who had brought great equipment, I managed to catch a medium-sized male rockfish. This time, the conditions were pretty good and I caught 9 Japanese rockfish, 4 redfish, 2 sawfish, and 3 Japanese black croaker. I have heard that some people have been lucky enough to catch a giant stag beetle. We don't have flashlights to look for bugs when they fly, chairs to sit on when we get tired, and of course rental cases to put the bugs we catch.Moths and other insects fly in larger numbers than stag beetles, so it is helpful to have insect repellent spray and towels to ward off insects.Reservations are made early during the stag beetle catching season from the end of June to the end of August.

I stayed for two nights, and on the first day I had venison steak, and on the second day I had bear meat hotpot, which is a dish that is hard to find in the city, and the taste is exquisite. The bath is not a hot spring.
