This inn has a taste of early Showa architecture, the hospitality of the two landlady's, and a satisfying dinner and breakfast made with plenty of local ingredients such as horse sashimi.

For many years now, I have thought that there is a ryokan with a great atmosphere. When I looked into it, it seems that it was a designated inn for the Occupation Forces after the war, and there are various things from that time left all over the inn.As you look around the museum, you'll see that there are many delicate pieces of Kumiko work and playful craftsmanship by the carpenters, which is amazing! !It seemed like this was the first time I had seen the walls, so when I asked the proprietress about it, she was surprised and said, ``I see! It certainly looks like that.''I think it's really amazing that things from that time are still intact.I can see that it has been cherished.Above all, everyone at the inn treated me warmly, and I was glad that I was able to stay there.I will stay again!

We stay at inns that are designated as nationally registered tangible cultural properties throughout the country.[Residence]This inn has a very historical feel. The entrance hall and the large hall on the second floor still retain their original appearance as an active inn.[Hot water]The bath was not a hot spring, but it was a warm jacuzzi bath.[Food]The meal was delicious and I loved it in my room.Dinner included 9 dishes and I was very full.Trout is an elaborate dish that involves grilling and then boiling it, so it was tender and very flavorful. The tempura, including shrimp and eggplant, was freshly fried and delicious.Tsuyuji, also known as koyuzu in Aizuwakamatsu, is a local dish of Tajima. The flavor is enhanced by the yuzu and pepper miso. The kelp was rolled up and the carrots were cut into sharp pieces like the tip of a sword, making it a very unusual dish.Aizu's specialty, horse sashimi, was placed on top of radish leaves and mixed with miso and soy sauce was delicious. In particular, the mustard was complemented by a secret flavor. When the salmon liver came out, it really crushed my liver. It was an unusual taste that I had never tasted before. It was delicious served on top of soba noodles. The persimmons for dessert were pickled in shochu and had a very deep flavor.Everything about it was delicious and I was very full. What's more, you can bring your own alcohol with you, so you can get it from the station store or the nearby Kokugen Sake Brewery. The breakfast consisted of eight dishes, including vegetables such as oud, zenmai, and mushrooms, along with stewed eggplant and green peppers. The classic grilled salmon had a very gentle taste.Boiled dishes such as zenmai and pumpkin also go well with rice. We also had Western-style tamagoyaki with salad. This too, no matter what I ate, everything was delicious.Additionally, the hojicha was served in a large bowl and was very delicious.【value】The accommodation fee was 8,500 yen plus 500 yen for heating with a kerosene stove, for a total of 9,000 yen.I felt sorry for the price and felt so satisfied, both of which were intertwined in a complicated way.On the way home after paying, I received a bright red ivy leaf, which I bookmarked and became a fond memory of my trip.

A registered tangible cultural property inn located on the main street of Aizu Tajima. The stately Japanese-style architecture in the Karaha style style catches the eye, but the interior is larger than you might imagine from the exterior, with a mix of Japanese and Western rooms and a stage in the banquet hall, which was expanded after the war to become a designated inn for the Occupation Forces. You can't fully appreciate the design in just one night. The large proprietress gave us a tour of the hotel, and at dinner, the young proprietress explained each dish of Tajima's local cuisine. This is an inn that you will want to stay at again and again.

On a TV show about sake and railroads, I saw a glimpse of a magnificent building with a Chinese gable, and upon further investigation, I discovered that it was an inn that was registered as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. I've been wanting to go there ever since, and my wish has finally come true.Although it is a large and deep building, every corner is very clean. The young proprietress guided us through baths and meals at the perfect time. If you want to drink alcohol, he asked me to go buy some at Kokugon, which is three doors down, and made sure they were still open. For dinner, we had horse sashimi, boiled Tajima local cuisine called tsuyuji, tempura, chawan mushi, etc., and national sake. Tsuyuji is very delicious, with the scallop soup stock working well. After breakfast, we were shown around the building by the landlady. Since it was built by your father, the part that was expanded after the war became a designated inn for the Occupation Forces was built by carpenters, craftsmen, and his family, using materials that are not available today. Freely made. You can feel the playfulness in the features, which is really wonderful.Since the woodwork of the shoji is held in place by grains of rice, you can't put a duster on it, so some people laughed that our inn was very dusty, but that was not the case, and the handrails and floorboards of the stairs were well polished. It shines amber and is beautiful.Afterwards, I received a bright red ivy leaf in a plastic bag and asked them to take it home to their families because it was so beautiful. thank you very much. This is a nice inn where you will be warmed by the hospitality of everyone at the inn. This is truly a heritage hotel, and we want to see the origins of the hotel. The proprietress said that if it had been a hot spring resort, it would not have been possible, but this rare inn has continued to exist because it is located in Tajima.I can't help but hope that you will always be in good health and protect this inn. I would like to visit again in a different season.

I had driven through Tajima town many times and was aware of the inn's existence. I've always wanted to stay there someday. Reservations can only be made by phone. The landlady is a warm mother who is bright, energetic, and has a good sense of humor. The proprietress is her daughter and it seems to be a family run business. This is not a hotel or an inn in a large hot spring town, so we recommend bringing your own amenities (also from an eco-friendly perspective). Things to bring: Bath towels, toothbrushing set (disposable toothbrushes were in the bathroom), tissues, portable water heater, cups, etc. There is no refrigerator. Even if you take these things into consideration, it's still a wonderful inn. It was a truly relaxing night with the warm people at the inn, the delicious local and seasonal food, and the historic building. I'll go again. thank you for helping me. thank you very much. 2022/4/23-24.P.S. The bath will be lit in the evening so that you can take a bath, and you can call out to us when you are ready. Meals will be served in your room. The bath and toilet are shared, but I don't feel inconvenienced. I stayed for one night on Saturday and it was ¥8,500 per person, including breakfast and dinner. This is my second visit on October 27-28, 2023. The proprietress, who was cheerful and fun to talk to, welcomed us with a smile. I was happy. Coffee and tea sets were prepared in the room, and a pot of hot water was brought to us when we entered the room. They will light the bath for you so that you can take a bath around 4 o'clock, and they will call out to you. You can enjoy your meal in your room. The local food was delicious. There was also a kerosene stove, so it didn't feel too cold at night and I was able to sleep comfortably. I checked out around 10am and was told that the poplars near the former Minamiaizu District Office were turning yellow, so I stopped by. This time I paid 500 yen for heating costs. Thank you for all your help. I had a great time. Thank you for the delicious food. I'll visit you again (maybe this time in the spring).

We stayed in late August. When I step over the front door...huh? degree? Era?There's a frog in the place where the upstile and Saburo Kitajima are likely to be lolI was taken to the back of a long hallway...If I looked closely, there was a long hallway ahead too lolThe room feels old, but it is thoroughly cleaned. There was no air conditioner, just a fan, but it was sufficient. The meals are rich in variety, including local wild vegetables and river fish. The soft rice is delicious! The bathroom felt like a guesthouse.Kind and courteous hospitality.I would like to take the opportunity to visit again.
