We made a booking using the email address on their website. We were not sure what to expect, but it was a great stay! Our room was very comfortable and we loved the hot tea that was provided at our table in our room. The bathrooms were very close to the room and the showers were clean and functional. We had understood that food was no longer an option based on the information from the website, so we planned to have snacks at the brewery across the road for dinner. Hotel staff were very kind and friendly (though they did not speak an immense amount of English). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get a bit off the beaten track! The area is beautiful. One small word of caution, though: like all traditional inns, the walls can be quite thin, so if your neighbours are noisy you will certainly hear them.

A renovated former school building that has been given new life as a lodging facility and a place of relaxation for the local community.Located in the depths of the Nakatsu Valley, which is rich in nature and has a sense of unexplored territory, it will be one of the places where you can escape from everyday reality and feel at peace.Although there are inconveniences such as the inconvenience of transportation in the mountains and the inconvenience of not being able to get things easily, I feel that the warm interaction with the local people makes up for it. I think you can experience it.The rooms are designed to be like a Japanese-style inn where you can feel relaxed, and while the interior retains the school-like feel, the things that can be used are reused, which I think will give people of that age a sense of nostalgia.Amenities are basically provided for your stay, so please be careful not to forget them (Yukata & bath towel rental, face towel & toothbrush & laundry detergent are available for sale for a fee)There is also a coin laundry.Each meal is prepared by local people using local ingredients.There is also a brewery on the other side of the river, and you can enjoy craft beer sold there with your meal.

Everyone kindly welcomed us! It seems to be a place for local people to communicate, and people from the neighborhood sometimes come and talk. You can also use the library and gymnasium, and relax while listening to the sound of the river ☺️

The exterior is a bit deceptive, as the rooms and welcome are far more welcoming. The food is also tasty and abundant, much more like home cooking than a lot of ryokan. They are right across from Blue Brew, a wonderful craft brewery, and the setting is really peaceful. I have stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times.

An accommodation facility repurposed from a closed elementary school. When staying overnight, it is better to include dinner and breakfast as there are no shops around.As others have written, the temperature of the bath was so high that I couldn't take a bath. I would like this point to be improved.

It was my first time using a facility that used to be a former school, so it was a new experience for me. I think the function as an accommodation facility is sufficient. There are no vending machines, but you can purchase food, including snacks, at the reception desk. Since it is located in the mountains, you are surrounded by the sounds of nature (the sounds of streams, birds chirping, etc.), but there is quite a lot of sound leakage from the adjacent room, which is designed to be connected to the room, and the sound of the sliding door can also be heard. The downside is that the noise bothers you and you wonder if you can hear the sounds coming from here as well.

Accommodation facility using a closed elementary school. Therefore, there is a gymnasium where you can play. You can also read books in the library.The bathroom has 3 showers and a regular household-sized bathtub. However, the hot water is set at 44 degrees, so it may be too hot to pour in.The rice was so delicious that I ended up ordering a second helping.

・Baths and toilets are shared. As others have written about the bath, the temperature setting is quite hot. The toilet has a warm water flush toilet seat.・You can take a bath even in the morning until around 8am the next morning. However, it is located across a breezeway and the lights are off, so you will have to turn on the lights yourself as you go.・Did you create a room that was originally a classroom by adding walls to partition it? The room I stayed in had a sliding door that could be connected to the room next door (although it was locked and couldn't be opened). Maybe that's why I can hear the noise from the next room ^^;
