You can experience an amazing starry sky. There is no light pollution in the surrounding area, and once your eyes get used to it, you will see many stars smiling at you.The lawn square where you can observe the starry sky is open to the general public and you can enjoy the stars until 10pm 🤩🤩.It takes approximately 1 hour to travel from Kumamoto city to the observatory. The fact that the Kyushu Chuo Expressway was extended to Tsujunbashi Bridge was a big factor. When you head towards the observatory with the help of your navigation system, you will be guided down a ridiculously narrow road called Prefectural Route 141. As I was driving along the prefectural road in the dark on my way back from sightseeing, I came across a pair of deer. Since it is such a narrow road deep in the mountains, it is safer to use National Route 218 to get to the roadside station Seiwa Bunrakukan. On your way back, we recommend that you follow the small signpost on the side of the road towards National Route 218. Big blue road signs and navigation systems guide you down Prefectural Route 141 in the dark. It looks like a straight line on the map, so it feels close, but there are no street lights and there are sections where it is difficult to separate. Anyway, on your way home, head towards the roadside station by turning left, relying on the sign with the star symbol.

We were able to see some wonderful stars. I think it's a good idea to check the weather in advance and plan your visit for at least two days.

It was raining, but it stopped for a moment around 11pm, and we could see the stars clearly. It was very good. The grilled meat for dinner was also delicious.

All responses are wonderful. She was attentive to my children when we ate at a restaurant, and when we were astronomical observing, she explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and detailed, and when I was assembling an astronomical telescope after purchasing it, she quickly helped me with parts. Even when I was panicking about something missing, he came to my accommodation, opened a new one and explained to me, and when I found a part I had overlooked, I said "excuse me" because it meant something was important. They responded to my request late without making a bad face, which made me feel really comfortable. The location was great, but most importantly, the staff was so helpful that we had a great day.I will definitely go again.

2022.10My family loves watching the stars, so we booked this inn with an observatory. Some buildings were under construction.Although the building is old, the inside was kept clean and there was also a Daikin air purifier.I would appreciate it if you could prepare a towel rack. For dinner, I chose the Wagyu Yakiniku course. The meat was very beautiful.Since the meat is so delicious, I thought it would be even more delicious if you added rock salt and black pepper in addition to the sauce and table salt. All the staff at the restaurant were very nice. After dinner, we had bread, corn soup, and coffee for breakfast. When paying by credit card, it seems that only VISA and Master cards are accepted. This is an inn for those who love stargazing and those who want to spend a relaxing time with their families.

This was my third stay here. The first time, due to rainy weather, we watched the video indoors and explained the celestial bodies of the season. It was very easy to understand and wonderful. But I still want to see the stars. tearsThe second time it was cloudy. I was able to look through the telescope during the short period of time when it was slightly cloudy, and I was able to see the moon, Saturn, Jupiter, etc.It was really fun to see Saturn's rings clearly. And this time for the third time, it's sunny with a new moon❗What's more, we were able to experience wonderful astronomical observation just as a group. And every time, I'm surprised at how knowledgeable the teacher is when explaining things.Well, thank you very much. Now, regarding the cottage rooms, they are very clean and comfortable.Hand towels, toothbrushes, and slippers are provided for each person. Also, shampoo, body soap, hair dryer, kettle, microwave, refrigerator, and tea set are also provided. In the winter, there is also a kotatsu, so you can relax very comfortably.Meals at the restaurant will be grilled meat. It's delicious, but the portion is extremely large, so it's recommended for people who can eat a lot, but please be aware that it may be too much for families with small appetites.White rice is really delicious.I can eat as many as I want (lol)Barbecues outside are not allowed. There is a kitchen in the room, so you can cook your own meals, but there are no cooking utensils such as a gas range. You cannot use anything that emits smoke or leaves a smell in the room, and you cannot bring in a cassette stove, so you will have to bring your own IH cooker or rent one.My family brings a small rice cooker and an IH cooker.Breakfast is fried eggs, natto, and white rice🍚Enjoying breakfast in the clean air is truly impressive.I really recommend this place. Please enjoy the starry sky and the astronomical telescope.

This is recommended for those who don't need anything extra, who want to get away from the hustle and bustle, and who want to reaffirm the greatness of nature (the starry sky).[Accommodation] The cottage is old, but it is well kept. Our biggest concern was the cold, but the cottage was heated and had a kotatsu, so we had a comfortable stay. We were a family of five, and some of us slept on the first floor, but it was so warm on the second floor that we thought it would be better if we all slept in the loft, even if we had to move the beds a little. I don't have to worry about the noise next door. The hot water comes out well, so taking a bath is also comfortable.[Meal] There was so much meat that I couldn't finish it, and I was full. They also served small plates of osechi for New Year's, which was very attentive. I was also grateful for the bread, powdered soup, and drip coffee (packed juice for the kids) that I received for breakfast.[Astronomical observation around New Year]He was very thorough and his explanations were detailed and interesting. It was the day before the meteor shower, and we saw many shooting stars, which made the children very happy. It will be held in the cold air on a carpeted rooftop. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, you will be asked to wear slippers or not, but if you are wearing regular socks, it is better to wear slippers. My feet are very cold.Lastly...the receptionist was very sincere on the phone. They have taken good measures to prevent the coronavirus, and I think this is an inn where you can feel safe at a time like this. I would like to go again in the summer.
