Beautiful place. Friendly staff. Amazing food (several ingredients are gathered locally, from what I understood). You can even participate in 滝行 (Takigyou), which is the Shinto ritual where you purify yourself in a waterfall. The ritual's meaning, way of doing it, was explained so you can take part into it seriously. Great experience. There is small museum with japanese paintings and other artifacts. Several famous painters have done their work there.

SanrakusoAccommodation like a guesthouseThe food has a strange menu and taste🧐The owner doesn't have a smile on his face, so much so that I wonder if he knows anything about the service industry.

I stayed here for the first time in a year. This is a place where you can forget about time and relax.Since I made a reservation here, so many good things have happened to me, so I think I was being welcomed by God.There were dishes that I hadn't seen before (this time I splurged a bit for an extra 2,100 yen), and they were very delicious.I can't drink alcohol, so I'm really grateful that you changed my aperitif to plum juice like before.I really like the konnyaku here, it's thick and filling.I also went to the morning worship and felt very refreshed. If you receive an exorcism here, all your bad energy will disappear.I'm thinking of going again next year. Please note that there are many slopes to get there, so be careful if you are coming from the cable car.

Amazing ryokan in an amazing place. The hosts were very nice people. The food was worth the experience in itself. Very different from anything we’d ever had. The Onsen was amazing. The room was big and comfortable. The only downside I thought was that you had to pay 3,000 yen per person to join the morning prayer practice, which seemed expensive. This made it feel more like a ryokan compared to a shukubo because other places we looked at had this included in the stay for a similar price. Overall an amazing experience. Mount mitake is an amazing place to spend a night and hike around as well
