Minshuku Furen

I used it on a solo trip in early September.Dinner was home-cooked food made with local ingredients, all delicious and soothing from the fatigue of the trip. You can also drink bottled beer (Sapporo, 500 yen) for an additional fee. I haven't checked, but I wonder if there are other types of alcohol?Since it was a guesthouse, we were close to other guests, and after the host introduced us to each other, we sat around the table and had dinner together.Breakfast consisted of salad, bread, milk, coffee, and 6 types of homemade jam. The jams were all fruits I had never tried before, but they were all delicious and I ate them all without having to refill the bread.It has a homely atmosphere, giving you a nostalgic feeling of visiting your grandmother's house in the countryside.There is a partition at the dining table, and the bedroom is a private room, so I think it's safe to take precautions against the coronavirus.The bath feels like a slightly larger home bath.All amenities are provided, including towels, soap, and disposable toothbrushes.There is no air conditioner in the bedroom, so it might be hot during the day, but there is a fan and the nights and mornings are cool, so I don't think it will be a problem.It's close to the scenic spot Shunkunitai, and it's nice to take a walk in the evening or morning.Convenience stores and supermarkets are far away, so if you need anything like alcohol, it might be a good idea to buy it before going to your accommodation.

We had a very pleasant stay. Very friendly people. Mr. Takeyoshi Matsuo knows a lot of nature and birds. He can give you lots of advise. Also the food is really good. We also enjoyed the contact with the other guests during breakfast and dinner.

I used it for bike touring. Dinner is homemade and exquisite. All of them are delicious. Breakfast is also delicious with homemade jam. The sunset over Lake Furen was also spectacular. The downside is that there are a lot of mosquitoes, but it can't be helped because it's on the side of Lake Furen. Definitely a repeat.

We stayed on a weekday in July 2023.It's been 30 years since I stayed there when I was a student.Both dinner and breakfast are made with great care and attention to detail and are truly delicious.The sunset seen from the dining room was a divine and happy moment.The rooms, baths, and toilets are kept very clean.Although it is 400 km from Sapporo, I would like to go there again.
