We stayed overnight at Konayuki for a short getaway in Niigata. The place was very homey and comfortable. The common areas were clean and the location is convenient for visiting attractions (shops, restaurants, ski resorts, even waterfalls!).The hosts, Konatsu and Kenji, were very friendly and accommodating. They recommended us local spots and cafes to visit during our stay.Would definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Niigata. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Konayuki hosted by two incredibly warm and welcoming hosts, was exceptional. Their genuine smiles and readiness to assist made us feel right at home. The place was not only spotlessly clean but also warm and comfortable. Very nicely decorated and has everything you need for your stay. It is just steps away from the village's shops and restaurants, the guesthouse's location couldn’t be more perfect. Plus, with the Kanko ski resort lift being right across the street! What truly set our stay apart was the kindness and hospitality of our hosts. The hospitality we received was exceptional and went above and beyond expectations and any other accommodation stayed at. Every meal was delicious and showcased the hosts' love for food and care for their guests. I left full of memories of a beautiful place, but also being grateful for having met such amazing people. For anyone seeking a memorable and convenient stay in Myoko, look no further than Konayuki. I highly recommend this place.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation was great but what really set it apart were the hosts Kenyi and his wife - very helpful with whatever we asked, from pointers on where to go on the ski fields, dining recommendations, to lending shoe glue when my boots fell to bits. Couldnt speak more highly of them.We were lucky to get 4/5 powder days to boot. The base of the Kanko gondola is 100m away and we found Kanko had the goods as much as the other 3 or 4 fields we went to.Trick tip: the gondola is almost the perfect length to enjoy a tea/coffee from vending machine in the morning or a beer in the afternoon.

We only stayed here for one quick night but it was a good experience! The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve slept on since being in Japan. The rooms are clean and cozy.Walking distance to the main town for dinner and drinks, and steps away from the closest ski hill.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I have stayed in Myoko numerous times, and this was by far my favorite stay in terms of accommodation. Location wise, it's as close as you can get to 'ski in-ski out' in Myoko, while also only being a short walk from most of the local restaurants/onsen. Kenji and his family go the extra mile to ensure you have the best time in Myoko, from discount lift pass tickets, providing local transport, even down to the little details such as booking restaurants in advance for our larger group. The accommodation itself was very cozy and was a perfect spot to relax after a long day on the mountain with a hot cocoa or a local craft beer. Kenji and his family definitely made this a special trip, one my family will always remember.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We had a wonderful stay at Konayuki guest house in Myoko, Kenji and his family took great care of us and provided everything we needed to enjoy our snow holiday in Japan. They were very accommodating to us with our young children and helpful in every way. I encourage you to stay with them. Great location with ski lifts so close and everything you need is within a short walk. A great stay. 👍

I like that it is owned by a local couple with a cute lil baby. The thing about family owned business is every service there's a lil warmth in it.There's a paid shuttle service provided by the owner where he will personally pick/send you to the accommodations and Myoko Kogen train station. On our first day we had some medical complications, the owner was concerned and offered help so he drove us to the nearest pharmacy to get our fix. That is already a bonus service to us.He helped recommend a few places to snowboard ( if you're staying there you'll get a discount coupons ) and made reservations for our dinner places. The room is cozy, very practical I would add. The toilet is super clean. There's a modern shower if you just want a quick rinse, or you can jump into the traditional shower with bath. There's a common area where you can have as many tea and coffee you like. If you want beer or other snack it's available over the counter and its not pricey. Breakfast is provided and it's different each day so it's nice.Location of the place isn't too far from the nearest ski resort, however if you want to go to other ski resort don't fret cause the nearest ski resort has other shuttle services to go to the other ski resort!Honestly it's just a very perfect place to just wind down and relax in a warm cabin with other different people. It's more of an Airbnb setting than a hotel/hostel.Would definitely comeback here again for our annual snowboarding trip!
