The all-cypress bath in Takayama, the country of Hida, was the best! The bath was a little smaller, but it also fit the image of traditional Japan and was very relaxing. We had a lot of kitchen utensils, so we were able to spend a comfortable time! Thank you very much! The hospitality of the owner's wife was also great! The stairs have handrails, but they are steep. Maybe it wasn't for older people...

The most welcoming and cozy stay in Japan! We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of March. From the reservation process to our arrival and throughout our stay, Junko and her family have been very delightful, friendly and gave us the warmest welcome. In terms of language, I had no issues communicating with Junko in English. The accommodation was absolutely amazing and heartwarming. It was very cozy, immaculate and fully equipped with all essentials provided. If you want the ultimate traditional Japanese experience, you'll have it all in one place with tatami floors, futon bedding, hinoki bath (Japanese Cypress wood) and kotatsu (heated table). We also opted for the Bento box dinner for our first night and we were so glad that we did. Junko organised it from a local restaurant with fresh local ingredients, it was deliciously satisfying.Lastly, the location was convenient for us as we had a car. It was easy to get to the destinations on our itinerary. They provide pick up/drop off service which we didn't require but for those who didn't travel by car.Looking out, the scenery there is very peaceful surrounded by rice fields and beautiful mountains. We were lucky to witness that with a touch of snow, it was breathtaking. To sum it all up, this was a very special experience that we have been boasting to all our friends and family. Highly recommended for anyone looking for the ultimate experience that doesn't have to cost you an arm or a leg.

Every Airbnb host I had in Japan was great, but this location was the best. I should have posted these photos years ago. That picked me up from the train station, drove me to the house. They were very accommodating, and friendly. The house is an absolute jewel of a location, wonderful views. Hida-kokufu area is the best location in the Japanese country side. The entire train ride there from Nagoya station is beautiful. But that last shot from the porch was an amazing view. It felt like home, and now I feel homesick. I want to go back and visit that beautiful area, and stay in this gorgeous house. Hida has crawled its way inside my heart. You will love it
