The owners were most friendly, we had a great evening there, they joined us for drinks and had a lovely chat. They did their utmost best to make us feel at home. On top of that we had some bikes we could use which helped us getting around town. Rooms & showers were clean. So all in all a great place to stay.Kind regards from Belgium.

The owner is charming, he gave us an album to see old photos of Shirakawa-go from 50-60 years ago, amazing.We ordered Hida beef curry and it was super mild. Highly recommended :)

Usually not open for non-residents, but we still got in!! Increadibly friendly host, food was basic but very tasty and gave us the power needed. Also free benefits!!

I can further validate the reviews that mention "coziness," "location," and the food. A special thanks to the owner (I forgot to get his name) for going above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable. He allowed me to utilize one of the bicycles at the inn. The location on google maps appears to be 90% accurate. Make sure you keep walking until you see the sign for "Koshiyama." Great for solo travellers and they appear to have some staff who speak decent English. At least at the time of this review. I must also mention that I had the richest miso soup I have tasted thus far in Japan at this place. Wow!

A wonderful inn close to the main village. The rooms are in the traditional Japanese style, with tatami mats and beds. It was a very cozy atmosphere that matched the overall vibes of Shirakawago.The Koshiyama staff and owner and very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to interact with us, despite our limited Japanese. The owner doesn’t speak English, but he used translator apps and we had no problem understanding him. Really appreciate the effort, it was very sweet of him.Highly recommend Koshiyama, great value in an area where the lodging can be expensive.

I didn't stay in a hotel and only ate beef :)⏰ Business hours 10am to 6pmOpen from 6pm to 9pm on FridaysIt is famous as a Hida beef restaurant near Shirakawa-go.Recognized as a beef restaurant!!The parking space is spacious and there are many seats inside.The inside feels like a villa and is cozy haha.Various props and food inside the storeWe sell small quantitiesThe staff is very friendly and the menu is diverse.The signature item on the menu is! It's Hida beef.I really don't regret itThe quality of the meat is really good and the accompanying side dishes are also good.Pickled cucumbers are good to eat with rice.Odeng stew made with tofu is unique and feels like vegan food.The taste is slightly bland due to the small amount of soy sauce, but it is clean.This is fine as is :)Rice and soup are free refills, so you can eat more if you want.I think this part is good too 😊If you eat Hida beef, I highly recommend it!!It's delicious and doesn't have any meaty smell.
