We are currently on vacation in Olsberg and so far we have stopped at the 'Schinkenwirt' three times.Twice at the end of a hike, we enjoyed one or two cold beers on the beautiful terrace.Once we reserved a table (be sure to do so) to eat.The restaurant is part of the 'SlowFood' movement and that is wonderful and noticeable.We had braised young goat and saltimbocca. Both excellent.The atmosphere is modern and warm at the same time, the staff is friendly and extremely polite. The team is also very international, which we also really like.

It was a really nice short vacation!!!!! A very clean hotel!!! Beautiful and quiet location!!! Very friendly staff and a rich breakfast buffet!!!! A beautiful outdoor area with enough opportunities to retreat and recharge your batteries!!! A great plus, the hotel is not too big!!!!

We had dinner at the Schinkenwirt on Tuesday and enjoyed everything to the fullest. The quality of the food was outstanding. The special thing here is the skilful use of flavors in combination with more traditional basics. (Almost) anyone can make bruschetta. But with chanterelles, high-quality olive oil, shaved parmesan and pimpernelle - wow. And where can you get goat sausage? But the highlight was the parfait flavored with mountain thyme - star level, no question.Perfect ambience, great service. The ultimate insider tip (but now it's no longer a secret ;-)

If you want to relax, combined with very good food and lots of peace and quiet, this is the right place for you.The Pfannes family including the team warmly welcomes you.The hotel is beautifully located on the slopes of the Eisenberg. The view is incredibly beautiful.The food is damn good. You wonder how they always make it so tasty.Even if you have intolerances, be it lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance or whatever. The kitchen is prepared for something like this and cooks the food so that it suits everyone.It is also a “slow food” restaurant.The hotel has a sauna outside. There are beautiful Kneipp hiking trails in the forest around it.The hotel also offers guided hikes. Just ask. Otherwise, you can go out on your own and explore the quiet area.So if you need an all-round feel-good package, you're in good hands here.Even dogs are allowed in the hotel.We go there at least once a year.

The Hotel Schinkenwirt is simply fantastically located – an oasis of peace! The surroundings invite you to relax and offer exactly the relaxation you want. The rooms are not only very clean, but also furnished with great attention to detail, which makes your stay particularly pleasant.Another highlight is the cozy atmosphere at breakfast. Nothing is really missing – everything your heart desires is on offer. A perfect start to the day! Overall, a wonderful hotel that I would happily recommend.

We visited the restaurant at the Waldhotel Schinkenwirt. The location is very rural but we found the location very nice. (We came from out of town and weren't staying overnight, so we can't say anything about the rooms).The restautant offers a great menu with dishes that you don't see every day and as good as it tasted here, it is probably unique. We chose the evening menu which offered a good selection of dishes. The food was really outstanding. The service was very prompt and very friendly.That's why we found out about the prices for a hotel stay and will definitely keep the Hotel Schinkenwirt in mind for our next visit.

Unfortunately I can't rate the rooms because you were allowed to spend the night in a tent on the meadow. But the dinner and breakfast were very, very good and the service and staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

Gabi and Michael Pfannes are very good hosts and, together with a committed and naturally friendly team, gave us a great mountain bike trip in the beautiful Sauerland. The location of the hotel and the entire complex are beautifully embedded in nature. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and impresses with its high quality and many local products. The restaurant offers food that is creative, seasonal and locally inspired and very, very tasty. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right at the Schinkenwirt! The garden and the great sauna house are highlights. We'll definitely be back :)

We had a very nice overnight stay with dinner in the Schinkenwirt. The food was really very good, not exactly cheap, but the quality and price-performance ratio was really top. Very nice and attentive staff. Brand new sauna hut, very good for relaxing. The breakfast is absolutely great, sausage etc. from the local butcher, many types of bread, homemade jam, very large selection, if something was missing it was immediately refilled. Thank you for a great experience. Absolutely recommended.
