Main negative point: Uncontrollable central ventilation and warm rooms!The hotel is located in the "new" customs harbor district, a bit away from the city. However, there is a nice footpath along the Rhine. Otherwise, the Mainz Nord train station is also around the corner. The hotel itself makes a good impression. It's comparatively cheap and everything is there. I can understand the lack of storage space, but it didn't bother me. I didn't use the breakfast. The main negative point, however, is the central ventilation system and not opening the windows. According to the reception, the air conditioning is currently only heating. Even at a setting of 5 degrees. The first night my room was extremely warm, stuffy and impossible to cool down. Opening the window doesn't work because there is an instruction not to give out any more window keys?! Dissatisfied guests are apparently less of a problem? (According to the reception and various reviews here, the problem is absolutely nothing new!) A room swap was offered, but in my opinion it doesn't help because the ventilation is central. The second night it was a little better but still quite warm, felt like 20 degrees. Other guests also complained that evening. I slept alone in the room. If there were two of us, I would have changed hotels straight away. What was strange was that there was a window open on the second floor... supposedly the cleaning staff opened it and they had a key. In my opinion, central ventilation that cannot be individually adjusted makes no sense at all in a hotel and especially not if it doesn't work properly. Of course, the ventilation runs constantly and disturbed the otherwise quiet background noise. When the ventilation/window problem is sorted out at some point, I'll be happy to come back. It's a shame, as the hotel otherwise makes a good impression.

Super loud construction site in front of the door! I even asked for a room on the other side, but was told that with the windows closed you wouldn't be able to hear the construction site. At exactly 7 I was woken up by massive construction noise. Not a word about the noise.

I'm here for work for 3 nights! The WiFi in the room is a disaster! It is not possible to work on a laptop in the lobby because there are a lot of guests there and it is therefore noisy. The rooms are clean, but you can't open the window. Not even on request. It was very hot there and there was a strange smell in the room. WiFi, heat and smell are a reason for me not to come here anymore!

Simply modernly furnished, air conditioning that works. The wet area is clean, the shower is walk-in.Only one negative point is that there are no parking spaces for sprinters etc. There is a parking garage for cars opposite.

The rooms at Super 8 by Wyndham are actually all the same and standardized. As you know it. The air conditioning in the room more or less didn't work, and the ventilation in the bathroom was also barely noticeable. That's why the room was very stuffy and warm. However, the problem was already known and had already been criticized by some guests. Unfortunately, you can no longer open the window in the new modern hotels these days.Otherwise there is a nice staff there, breakfast was very good, there is everything your heart desires and what you like.The location is fine so far, unfortunately the tram wasn't running during our stay, so we only went to the city center by bus or Sbahn. The bus takes less than 10 minutes to get to the city center.

Standard hotel with pleasant facilities. Very good breakfast buffet. However, the ventilation in the rooms is extremely poor: you cannot open a window and the air conditioning does not ventilate the room sufficiently. The air became very bad after a short time with only one person in the room, and a fat head in the morning is inevitable. For this reason I will not book here again.

Really nice front desk, cheap pizzas on order till ten. No ice at the front desk but very convenient from the main HBF, walking distance from the mainz nord train station on s8 (it comes to the first floor of the mainz hbf at track one, it is one stop and about four minutes

Nice staff. The barrier-free bathroom is special. Room 159. Very expensive materials were unfortunately veryinstalled dysfunctionally. The shower seat fittings are located behind the user! Not really clever.

Beautiful modern air-conditioned rooms. Just a little too tight. The only stupid thing was that you couldn't open the windows.Location close to the Rhine, everything you need within walking distance.It is about 25 minutes by car to Wiesbaden.Parking: in the parking garage opposite costs €10/day + €25 card deposit.Breakfast was quite good, even with vegan options, such as plant milk, vegetables and spreads.

Average good hotel. Everything was clean & comfortable beds.Unfortunately, the windows are locked, you only get “fresh” air via the air conditioning. There may still be a few little things to complain about, but it's not that bad.The location is directly on the Rhine. You can reach the city in 20-30 minutes on foot. Parking opposite in a new parking garage for only EUR 5 on the weekend is really great.There is a 24-hour service at reception. The staff was friendly. It was not possible to check in in advance because the rooms were not ready until 3 p.m. But it wasn't necessary because the booking details were taken over and check-in was still possible at night even with 3 per mille. ;)

We were there over the weekend (wine festival in Mainz). Booked via Check24 including breakfast. There were difficulties with issuing the breakfast tickets because the amount apparently did not reach the hotel. Very nice quiet rooms. Breakfast selection was very good, quality was good. Unfortunately there is no free parking available at the hotel.

The hotel is good and the beds are comfortable, the reception staff is friendly. However, the breakfast is subpar, and I had a very bad experience with a restaurant employee named Marc. My child wanted to eat scrambled eggs, but as you can see in the picture, they were burnt. Behind the burnt scrambled eggs was another pan of unburned eggs. I politely asked him if I could get the unburnt eggs but he rudely replied that that's all they have. I asked him if that meant I could take it or not but he ignored my question. Then a friendly employee came and I asked her. She asked Marc again, and he said loudly to her: “I've already told her twice, no! That's her problem if she doesn't understand." So my child went without breakfast that day.I have never experienced such behavior in my life. If someone works in the hotel and service sector, they should learn how to interact with guests.Therefore never again.
