Beautiful, historic building and quietly located. From the outside, the castle hotel impresses with its beautiful and romantic appearance.At first glance the room was nicely furnished, but upon closer inspection there were one or two cosmetic flaws in the form of peeling wallpaper and an outdated and stained floor lamp. One of the bedside light switches didn't work. The TV was a bit small considering the distance from the bed.The cleanliness was good so far, except for a thick layer of dust on the towel radiator in the bathroom and a few splashes on the mirror.The beds were great!The breakfast was good. Selection and quality absolutely fine.When checking out we reported the broken light switch. The lady at the reception was aware of the problem and told us that the electrician was desperate for this room because somehow everything wasn't working properly ("Oh yes, number 32, that's nothing new in THAT room.. .")Despite understanding the age of the building, the statement didn't leave us with such a good feeling. Rather, it felt as if we had been assigned a room that was below the hotel's actual quality standard.Nevertheless, our stay in Braunfels was nice 😊

First of all, a nice old renovated hotel - but we were welcomed by two young people chatting. After five minutes we were shown where everything was, then the young man watched my husband drag the two huge suitcases up the stairs, turned around and left - that's not possible - second parking space was assigned and was still occupied in the evening 🤷🏻 ♀️ Nobody there - self-service at the bar 🙄 only the breakfast is world class, everything is there - great coffee 😀👍🏻 and service is great (special requests like fried eggs etc. were fulfilled immediately) big praise to the ladies 😀👍🏻 and the location is also great at the foot of the Braunfels Castle - maybe we would organize it a little better then we would come back

Very nice and quietly located hotel right at the foot of Braunfels Castle and the old town. Clean and nice rooms. Bathroom a bit small but sufficient. The hotel has been lovingly renovated and equipped. Self-service at the counter and in the living room is an interesting idea and very well implemented! The service from the staff was excellent. Everyone was always very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is excellent! There is free parking right in front of the door. There is sufficient bicycle storage space in the bicycle cellar.We can only recommend the castle hotel. There was a great beer garden in the spa park to end the evening!

Stayed here on our way home, the Netherlands.The hotel is within walking distance of the beautiful Braunfels Castle and is surrounded by all kinds of restaurants and shops.The room is spacious and clean, but it does get very warm. Bed was good.The reception by the receptionist was a bit stiff and the next day another receptionist was also not so accommodating. They only wanted to communicate in German.

The hotel is comfortably furnished and the large “living room” for breakfast is also nicely decorated. The breakfast is not cheap, but it is very rich and good. The staff very friendly. A small aftertaste upon departure were the parking fees, which were not mentioned when booking.

Repeated here locally. Very quiet and idyllic hotel in a small spa town. Room sufficient. Notice given to the cleaning crew, but small things. The large living room is particularly brilliant, where you can meet in the evening or catch up on office work. There is no desk in the room. Drinks and bar on a trust basis. Sauna for hotel guests at €15/day...so not tested. Some locations within walking distance.

Impressive picture from the outside. Inside it's clean and smells good. Very courteous employees. The whole hotel is very stylish and tastefully decorated. Good recipe and definitely worth the trip.We'll come back and try the in-house sauna.

We had a wonderful short stay at the Schlosshotel Braunfels. Ins liked it very much. Everything is very nicely decorated, we were warmly welcomed and the whole atmosphere was wonderful. Very good breakfast and the self-service approach at the bar during the day and evening is great. The hotel is very nicely located and even working is possible thanks to excellent internet access via a very good WiFi infrastructure. We'd love to come back!

The castle hotel was really a favorite place for my short vacation. My room was very nice and quiet, the bed was comfortable.A bottle of water was ready for me.TV and WiFi worked perfectly.The bathroom (really more of a wet room) could be a little bigger, but as a solo traveler it was functional.Shower worked fine.The breakfast is phenomenal! The coffee machine leaves nothing to be desired and you can also find everything your heart desires at the breakfast buffet!On Sunday there were extra good things like salmon, sweet little pieces...The fact that you can also use the room and the terrace as a "living room" and that you always have a bar, refrigerators with drinks and the coffee machine at your disposal was great.There are also books and games in the cupboard.The proximity to the Herrengarten and the pedestrian zone are great, and I always found a parking space.My vacation at the castle hotel was a complete success and I would love to come back again.
