At the beginning of October we met a friend for dinner at the Taufsteinhütte. The ambience was very nice. We had pre-booked a table online. We were served very quickly, very professionally and very friendly. The starter salads were excellent, with a perfectly seasoned dressing. Both rump steaks were fried perfectly medium and of the best quality. The herb butter (homemade?) was a highlight!! The fried potatoes as a side dish were also very good. Nice and crispy and not dripping with fat; exactly how good fried potatoes should be.Unfortunately, the third menu (fillet plate with mushroom cream sauce and “Spätzle”) had nothing of the quality of the two rump steaks. The fillets were simply too well done and the spaetzle were simply a disgrace! It's completely incomprehensible to me how you can produce such different qualities from three dishes.Spaetzle, such a simple side dish. In this price range you can also expect homemade spaetzle, or at least good convenience. These spaetzle were underground! Cheap ready-made spaetzle – cooked to death.Conclusion: You can definitely eat well in the Taufsteinhütte. I'll find out whether that's possible on my next visit.So, despite the spaetzle, 4 stars. Salad, rump steak, fried potatoes and this herb butter deserve full marks.

An overnight stay in a family barrel, an hour in the barrel sauna, a three-course menu with corresponding drinks and in the morning a breakfast buffet where nothing was missing. Chapeau for this divine place with attentive and friendly staff! Completely in contrast to the previous speakers here; What we couldn't understand in the slightest, we give 5 stars in all areas. Remarkable cuisine true to the principle: ...you have to love cooking, as if you were a guest forever! Thank you very much !!Jens R from KS

Were there for the grill buffet.It was too cold in the wooden hut to relax and enjoy the food. Some of us had our jackets on.The selection was already known beforehand. Unfortunately, the grilled food outside was cold until you sat at the table. The weather just didn't fit the theme.

Mass processing with poor price-performance ratioIf you want to spend relaxing hours with good food with family or friends, this restaurant is not the right place.The atmosphere was more reminiscent of a train station than a cozy restaurant. At least when it came to the noise level. It was simply impossible to have a conversation without having to use your voice to communicate. Sign language would have been even more helpful here.The beef fillet steak I ordered was tough and served lukewarm.The cocktails were also a disappointment, lacking in content and unappealing to the eye.Apparently people here place more value on quantity and handling than on comfort and hospitality. The tables were placed extremely close together and the guest rooms were literally crammed with seating.Only the prices are high here.Service and cuisine rather below average.Overall it was a disappointing experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. There are definitely better options in the area!

You must have been very annoyed if you posted your first criticism on the Internet on your 85th birthday. The baptismal hut did it! As a senior citizen with a walker, I felt like a second-class citizen in this "establishment".The parking spaces were reserved for hotel guests. The area in front of the inn is roughly gravel, meaning it is not accessible to wheelchair users and walker users. It was only with difficulty that we found a way to get into the house. The narrow path was also lined with ashtrays and signs. The high step at the reception desk cannot be bridged without a ramp. The surrounding staff offers no help! Incredible!My tip to the host:HANG A SIGN: DISABLED AND SENIOR PEOPLE NOT WANTED!!!That would at least be honest.Regardless of this, the food was bad, sometimes lukewarm and presented completely carelessly.Baptismal hut: Never again!

The ambience was nice, the menu, which we had looked at online in advance, promised good things. We sat outside in the courtyard; except for one table, everyone else was free. Unfortunately we waited for a whole hour without a waiter with us. Every now and then I asked inside whether we would be served outside. I was assured that someone would come to us. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Our neighboring table, on the other hand, was served by different waiters the entire time, none of whom even came to see us. The food probably would have tasted good, unfortunately we can't judge that. After an hour we left. Unfortunately we can only give one star for this. Too bad!

Caution!!!Anyone who complains about the parking fees or questions them in the Taufsteihütte will no longer be served. That's what happened to us on Sunday, January 1st, 2024 when we wanted to eat something in the baptismal hut. We expressed our lack of understanding about the parking fees that we had to pay to get to the hut in the first place. After a long wait and subsequent inquiries in the Taufsteinhütte, the waitress literally told us: "Anyone who complains like that will intentionally not be served here."

For me as a wedding photographer, one of the best locations in the area! The rooms are wonderfully and rustically designed with a great elegance! The service, the food and the celebration location are simply amazing. It's always a pleasure to be here and I can 100% recommend the Taufsteinhütte!

A fabulous place in the middle of nature where you immediately feel at home.A special feature are the wine barrels for overnight stays. Great!You can also go on many hikes, including to the Hoherodskopf.

We were offered a table at 2:30 p.m.! After repeated requests, no service came to us; instead, three people polished their nails at the front.We will never visit this place again.One should be more than ashamed of this behavior.Absolutely sad place and not worth recommending.Shame on you...0 stars

The Taufsteinhütte offers a wonderful opportunity to escape everyday life, even for a weekend. Whether it's a room, a wine barrel or a forest hut, there's something for everyone here. The whole thing, idyllically located on the Hogenrodskopf, with a beautiful view over the entire valley. Price-performance ratio is definitely right for what is on offer. The restaurant and the outdoor area are a great place to linger and there are more than enough parking spaces for those traveling through. There is free parking on site for overnight guests - compared to day visitors. The Hogenrodskopf is always worth a visit.Always happy to come back
