Nice hotel in a park-like setting.Pool, unheated in the park.Unfortunately no sauna. Barrel sauna would be an alternativeStaff is very friendly and helpful.Room was good. Shower had a drain problem. It was clean, but drained too slowly.Unfortunately no BD.Lots of sockets.Unfortunately, you could easily hear the highway with the window open.

Hotel with restaurant in the middle of the forest. Despite the large campsite next to it, we slept absolutely well, only the quiet murmur of the mill stream could be heard. The rooms are a bit old, but very clean! The staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet was sufficiently rich. The restaurant, which is economically independent of the hotel, deserves one more star! We were served quickly and very courteously, even though there were no seats left around 7 p.m. and unannounced guests had to wait! The food was very good and plentiful! The landlord and his staff deserve high praise! We would be happy to come back if we had to stay overnight in this beautiful corner of Germany again!!

30 on August 31, 2024Restaurant: ****Beautifully situated between the hills near Girod. Friendly welcome, nice room with a view over the garden. Restaurant with traditional German menu. Service was smooth, portions good, quality also good. Breakfast was excellent, more like three than four stars. They were busy at reception but friendly. Unfortunately we could not do a late checkout (they were fully booked), but we were expressly invited to use the swimming pool (if we wanted). And that we could also take towels. Excellent parking lot with enough space. Well-kept environment with flowers, beds, paths. Very traditional look. Advantage of our room: beds were very good and the windows could be opened. The room had comfortable armchairs and a nice desk. Bathroom was tidy, water pressure was good and enough towels. Hotel is dog friendly. The terrace outside has a large cloth for shade. There is a campsite behind the hedge. It didn't bother us, but we did see a lot of caravans. Can therefore potentially cause noise; In addition, guests of the campsite can use the hotel swimming pool. The room had no air conditioning so it was a bit warm. Garden is beautiful but there are a number of things missing: paths would be nice, swimming pool was not clean (many leaves, etc.). With relatively little effort, this hotel could score an 8 or 9, as far as we are concerned. The hotel is located close to the A3, halfway between Cologne and Frankfurt.

BEAUTIFUL RECREATIONAL PLACE in the middle of the green forest, the large, well-kept property surrounding the hotel invites you to relax and unwind. Small places with 2/3 seats, a small pool ensures cooling down, separate large hall (well insulated, no music etc. penetrates outside!) perfect for family celebrations, weddings, birthdays etc. We meet our Cologne friends there one weekend a year.

Rooms without air conditioning, it gets quite uncomfortable at 30 degrees during the day and when you open the window, a cooling system for the kitchen blasts all night long. Luckily, they have switched off the mole scarer that is spread around the site, which beeps like a Tchibo alarm clock every few minutes. Beds are very short and for a conference hotel it is far too loud during the day due to garden and construction noise if you want to use the (very beautiful) outdoor areas.Food is good. Service is always friendly and accommodating.

Today it was so mediocre...we've been there before...unfortunately this time it was a bit disappointing. I had chanterelles in cream with napkin dumplings...but the cream was watery and the whole dish had very little seasoning. It's a shame because we were very impressed on our first visit. The wine was very tasty. The service varied depending on who came by.It's a great location and we will come back, but we wish our complaint had been taken into account. Maybe it was also due to the situation that there was a lack of staff... at least that's what we hope for our next visit

business overnight stay. It is advertised with something like “you will definitely come to rest here”, which is what the secluded place promises - if it weren't for the kitchen - room 222 is exposed to so much noise that you would think it was an industrial place -, instead of a catering establishment. It doesn't make sense to open the windows because the kitchen smells like old frying oil - even later at night - really disgusting. This also makes the noise of the A3 passing nearby “bearable”.Reception not occupied/available.That doesn't work at all

I booked here for 1 night via a booking website. The price was on the high side but I had heard good things about the restaurant and location. It was very disappointing that the restaurant was closed and the room was dated with bad pillows. I was traveling with my 4 year old daughter so I was forced to stay in the room.
