The hotel is beautifully located on the old market square with a view of Stolpen Castle. The surrounding area is very quiet and beautiful, the city can be explored on foot. The hotel rooms are beautifully designed (solid wood furniture, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom facilities). Our whole group was thrilled. The kitchen team makes every effort to fulfill the guests' wishes, everything tasted very good. A special tour of the historic basalt cellar and a visit to the castle created many wonderful memories for everyone.

Spontaneous dinner. Food very poor. The service (waitress) was worse than terrible. We ordered, and in the meantime the tables were filling up and customers were placing their orders. We were the last to receive our order (the same dishes that other customers ordered after us). After pointing this out, the waitress only brazenly replied "what's the point?" even though she clearly knew what it was about.As I mentioned, the food was average, the service terrible. There are definitely better places nearby.I strongly do not recommend it!!!!

The hotel has been lovingly renovated and the room is very clean.The location in the middle of Stolpe is very good and we were able to park on the market square for an overnight stay.The breakfast was also very tasty and had everything you could want in the morning (egg, various rolls, various sausages and cheeses, honey, jam, Nutella).Absolutely recommended for an overnight stay!

The hotel is located in the middle of Stolpen on the market square.The hotel is rustic but very lovingly furnished. The room was very clean.I only give it 4 stars because we only had poor Wi-Fi reception in our room.

Charming rustic hotel with charm and character. Clean rooms, delicious breakfast. Very, very nice host who spontaneously gave us a tour of the house, we were able to admire the beautiful basalt cellar, the halls and the great inner courtyard, we were also thrilled by the beautiful little place. We would have liked to stay longer and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

A hotel with a lot of charm and character. The rooms are impeccably furnished and very clean. The service is top notch and the food is very tasty. There was even a short, very interesting historical tour of the house. We were very impressed and would like to thank you for the remarkably friendly treatment. Hospitality is still alive here!The small historic town of Stolpen with its castle complex is really worth seeing and worth a stay. We really enjoyed our short stay.

I was there on Sunday with my motorcycle. The building has charm and historical value. I can't say anything about the rooms. The staff was nice, but the price-performance ratio of the restaurant was not right. Too expensive for the quality. There is an urgent need for action. Otherwise a beautiful little town.

The location of the hotel is excellent and the town of Stolpen is always worth a visit.Unfortunately, the food in this hotel is of poor quality and offered at overpriced prices.A guest returned his food because of the poor quality and lost his appetite. The waiter, whose appearance doesn't really fit into a hotel like this, threatens the guest with the police because he didn't want to pay for the meal. Other guests also explained to the waiter that the guest had the right to do so. Here there was only an inappropriate answer: “let him sue us” and “have fun with it”.This is completely inappropriate and such a staff is unsustainable.Conclusion: You should eat somewhere else!

Was there for a short vacation.Pleasantly surprised.Historic building, beautifully renovated, very clean.The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating, warm.If I come to the area again, I would like to go back to the Golden Lion.

We were here during the Easter holidays. It was 3 nights for a family of four. Our two, very clean, large double rooms were next to each other and had a beautiful view of the market square.At this point there were no other hotel guests and we felt like the house was our own.The breakfast was delicious and more than filling. The rolls were always fresh from the regional bakery. Every request was addressed individually early on, simply amazing.Also worth mentioning is the tour of the basalt cellar and the nice evening support at the regulars' table 😉, there was always great information about the region and great hiking tips.We really liked it and we'll definitely be happy to come back to this great hotel, kind regards from Leipzig 🙋

The Hotel Goldner Löwe, centrally located in the tranquil and pretty town of Stolpen, can be highly recommended.The furnishings in the almost 400 year old house are in very good condition. The restaurant only has a small menu, but the food is excellent. The hotel's very friendly and helpful people try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. If we are ever in the area again, we will come back!

A great hotel...Perfectly renovated, the rooms, 7 of them, are huge! Mega beds... you sleep very, very well. Breakfast is absolutely delicious, everything your heart desires is offered. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We can only recommend this hotel and will come back ourselves. Kind regards!!

We went to the Golden Lion once for lunch - friendly staff, beautifully presented food and it tasted really delicious. We then decided to hold a larger celebration here, including an overnight stay. Hotel very nice, very nice atmosphere, newly renovated, everything you need, good location on the market square. Breakfast also tip top. Everything was great for the celebration with a buffet (delicious food, kept hot, very friendly service, your own wishes were taken into account). Every time again!
