Very disappointed with the establishment on the one hand for the hygiene which for my part is deplorable (sticky floor, disgusting windows, bad smell, dirty shower...) Old hotel, uncomfortable bedding, bunk bed to make ourselves.. .

The hostel is centrally located.The room was clean.Breakfast was good and sufficient.The sockets in the beds are dummies that don't charge.On the day of check-out, my locker was broken into by the receptionist and my valuables were stolen. These were given to me later.Maybe the reception staff should do their job and nothing else.

The room for 4 people is a disaster, the bathroom with shower is much too narrow and there is hair in the shower and there was a rotten egg in the loft bed, several stains on the bedding and on the bed. The dinner was poor, but the breakfast was "ok"

I had a single room. Overall, was I satisfied?The bathroom was decently clean, only in the living/sleeping area the walls were a bit mottled!There were a lot of children on my floor, they could be clearly heard from the hallway (luckily I had earplugs with me)

Food excelent, the staff very efficient. Would be nice the control of alcohol in the rooms, it is not nice to meet drink people in the ailes. The guest kitchen needs sadly to be more watched. The guests are not taking good care of it.

Unfortunately, we had a very bad overall impression of the hostel. When we arrived at 3:30 p.m. (with a possible check-in time from 3 p.m.), we were told that room cleaning would still need 1.5 hours, even though we booked well in advance and we received an email at 3 p.m. saying that Room would be finished cleaning. When we were able to move into the room, it was very dirty and had a lot of signs of wear and tear. We booked a family room (2 single beds pushed together and 1 double bunk bed), in which the bathroom was divided into two, one with a toilet and sink, the other with a shower and sink. As a result, the bathrooms were so small that the door had to be left open in order to change and dry off, etc. Some of the bed covers were stained with blood, the mattress was dirty, some of the walls had lots of stains on them, and the hairdryer in the bathroom didn't have a sticker passed the TÜV test, the wardrobe was hanging at half past seven, the towel holder was torn apart and there was no cupboard to store the clothes.The hostel is about a 10-minute walk from Dresden main train station, so it's easy to reach. There's a bus stop right on the street in front of the hostel. Unfortunately, tram traffic was very limited at the time we were there.The breakfast was okay, although sometimes a bit unhygienic and seemed overly mass-produced. There were a lot of guests at breakfast at the time and although several employees were milling around the room, no provision was made for the second existing breakfast room to be opened so that everyone could have a seat.We visited the existing Skybar on the roof of the hostel on a Friday evening (possibility to sit inside and outside), there was full flood lighting and no music, instead there was loud football on, although none of the guests were interested at the time, destroying this the flair of a conventional bar. Unfortunately, the drinks were not tasty, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.Unfortunately, we have to say that the stay at the a&o Hostel Dresden Hauptbahnhof did not meet our expectations and we cannot therefore recommend it.

We had a family room in the a&o hostel in Dresden.The room was originally booked using a voucher,in which all fellow travelers (4 people) were already included.Due to family circumstances we were unable to start our original travel date, but a rebooking was carried out over the phone without any problems - without any indication of possible additional costs.We understood the invoice documents sent with the invoice designation 'Proof print (not an invoice)' to be a proforma invoice in the sense of a booking confirmation.Especially since the additional costs that would arise were not explicitly mentioned in the cover letter.At check-in, however, we were asked to pay an additional €200.00, which we grudgingly did after some discussion.And that for a room that had not been cleaned sufficiently, with a shower with far too little space and in which the bed linen provided was already dirty.(see photos)Although the bed linen was replaced immediately, the room was not promised to be cleaned the following day.A response to our complaint via the feedback address that was recommended to us by an employee has remained unanswered to this day, a week later.Furthermore, our codes for breakfast did not work.However, due to the confusing situation in the breakfast room, this was not a problem as it was not checked anyway.The employee at reception shrugged off the reference to this as a 'system error'.Overall, an absolutely unpleasant and overpriced stay that will definitely not be repeated.

Hostel renovated but after DDR... The 5th staff was Polish... Rooms clean, cleaned daily, towels changed, separate bathroom and toilet, TV... very quiet area, 10-minute walk to all attractions... paid parking on the premises of the hostel ..communication works very well... We are so pleased with our stay in this hostel that when planning our next trips to other cities, we will definitely look for accommodation in a&o hostels... Best regards to the hostel staff

The room is like a prison room. Everything is very tight for 2 people. And no closet for your own things. No bedside lamps and the light switches were far away. The walls were dirty and to make matters worse, there were bugs in our room. Unfortunately not recommended. However, the breakfast was very good. Therefore 2 stars.Cleanliness doesn't seem to be taken very seriously here. We won't book here again!

Worst experience in a hostel in my life. Due to personal problems, my friend and i arrived to the place at 6 in the morning. After explaining to the guys in reception what happened and if it was possible to check out later (otherwise we would be in the room just 4 hours), they told us it was not possible and that we would have to pay 13€ more. We felt they just wanted to take money from us even after telling them we were coming from a 6 hours travel in bus. Not humanity and no respect for the guests!!!
