I want to warn you. Please don't book a room here! I stayed here for 4 nights with my family. One of my traveling companions had his iPhone stolen from his room and someone entered his room while he was sleeping. We suspect the staff. Reported to reception, but no one could do anything. Reported it to the police early in the morning, it took 2.5 hours.

We stayed for 4 nights and loved the amenities specially the gardens and the swimming pool perfect for get relax and cool down after a day of go around the town. The room was spacious enough for we both and had plenty of storage for all our stuff.The staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the great view to the sunset and the lovely small streets for arrive to the hotel. Great location to visit Ubud center and nearby attractions by foot. Plenty of good restaurants around☺️

I want to be as fair to this establishment as possible. First of all, the location is unbeatable. Perfectly situated in the heart of Ubud, this place is just a few meters away from the road. It might get tricky trying to locate it, as it is hidden from the main road. I didn't know that Bali doesn't have flatpin sockets so I was fanatically looking for an adapter when (BTW get a flatpin to round pin adapter before flying to Bali) one of the staff generously lend me one at the time of a dire need. Forever grateful to him. Unfortunately, this is where the good things end.Cheap as it might be, it isn't really worth it. They start serving breakfast only from 7.30. Given the fact that tourist tends to leave early to make on time for far off attractions, the staffs should have it in their good conscience to serve breakfast early, like any other hotels! When voiced, the staffs were unemphathetic. It kind of dawned upon me that the decision to serve the breakfast late was a deliberate move.The breakfast, which we manged to grab in our second morning, was absolutely disgraceful. We were told that we could choose only one item per person from the list of literally 6 items. Any thing extra costs money. They served coffee that wasn't filtered or French pressed. As I stirred to mix some sugar, I could see coffee particles, in spades, swirling up.Beed sheets and linens smelled of moulds. My wife had to use her shirt to make a make-shift pillow case.If I ever visit Ubud, best believe I won't be staying at Gora House.

The staff is awful!!!At the reception they did not give me a receipt for prolong the room for one night. when we checked out the next day they demanded to pay again. The staff doesn't communicate with each other at all.

The staff are friendly and very helpful, the room facilities are quite complete, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the hotel atmosphere is comfortable and private, close to central Ubud, perhaps for rooms in different buildings from the restaurant breakfast can be facilitated in the room so guests don't have to walk to the restaurant, alley access to a small hotel. Over all, it was nice to stay here

The room was excellent. However we need to walk about 5minutes to reach hotel because the hotel is not accessible by car. No lifts(elevators). You will have hard time if you have heavy luggages. The staffs were friendly but wont be at the counter most of the time.

We had high hopes after such good reviews, but were let down massively.We arrived before check in (not anything to do with this review), and then returned 2 hours after check in time. This is just to say they knew we were in town and ready to check in. The staff also seemed like they were stoned.They had no bedding on the beds, and no towels. When we enquired, we were told ‘2 more hours’. We asked to have towels at least so we could use the pool, and luckily 20 minutes later some towels arrived.However, 3 hours later, we’re about to leave for dinner and bedding still hadn’t arrived. When we went to ask about it, they acted oblivious and walked off. I followed, to check they were (hopefully) getting bedding and got yelled at by the man. We felt quite threatened by the staff.At this point we left. Booked elsewhere and demanded a refund (yet to know if we’ll get it).Edited to say we did get the refund from the site we booked through, and they expressed we were not the only ones with issues.

We had a great stay here. The villa was private and clean although slightly dated. This didn’t take away from anything. I would still highly recommend this for your stay in Ubud. The complex is down an alleyway so be prepared for a walk down paths that are not always suitcase friendly. This just adds to the charm though. You feel like you are away from everything but you are only a couple minutes from one of the main streets in Ubud
