I cannot share Mr. Jürgen Schulz's recession at all. We were also guests at the Nepomuk Festival on that weekend. We have been staying here for many years when passing through from a holiday in Spain and look forward to a very good meal and good wine at the end of our holiday. We receive a warm welcome every year and we were also picked up from the town for the Nepomuk Festival and were able to park via the back entrance. The nice waiter in leather pants served us very friendly. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is also great. Our wishes were always fulfilled. The Gasthof Adler is a stylish inn, not a bistro. We feel very comfortable here and if you don't want to spend anything on good food, you should perhaps take a look at the menu first. We just booked yesterday and will start and end our Spanish vacation at Gasthof Adler in 2025. The Gasthof Adler is located near the motorway and the French border, ideal for transit or stopovers. We can recommend the Gasthof Adler 100%.

Very friendly and competent, fantastic food. The service staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and special requests are also possible at any time, which is not necessarily a given.

It's been a few days since I visited the restaurant, but I still want to describe my impression. It was the day of the Nepomuk festival in Neuchâtel. We were able to get a place in the garden, the boss (?) welcomed us warmly and found us a place. Until then everything is fine. Then a stressed out waiter arrived (perhaps no surprise given the hustle and bustle). We didn't order from the menu but based on the sign in front of the entrance door, which offered fresh chanterelles with spaetzle. We had a bit of a guilty conscience about only taking chanterelles and not a large steak, meat, menu, etc. I said to my wife that the waiter was unfriendly because we were eating "poor people's food". After a while of waiting, the food came. Everyone had a plate with a little spaetzle and chanterelles on their plate, we looked at each other a little questioningly and there came a small bowl of spaetzle and a bowl of chanterelles. The spaetzle wasn't enough in proportion, but good, we didn't want to eat huge amounts and were ultimately satisfied, even if the ratio wasn't right somehow. We sat for a while and watched the goings-on. Then we asked for the bill. The somewhat unfriendly Lederhosen waiter came and presented us with the bill. And now please hold on...we paid EURO 32 per portion of spaetzle with sauce!!!!! Total €64 for a small portion of spaetzle with chanterelles!!!!!! In addition to drinks for just under 13 euros, we were up to 77.80 euros for food in a country inn in a border town, no Michelin stars or anything like that, so where did we end up...? And now the icing on the cake.... 3 hours later I died a thousand deaths, gastrointestinal problems of the worst kind and that over almost 3 days. Normally we would have had to contact the food inspection office, but who would think of that right away? You don't really want anyone to do anything bad. A few days later I looked at the menu on the internet and there were spaetzle with sauce for €30 each, apparently an extra 2 euros in expenses were added to it,..... so for me it was a rip-off of the most extreme kind! !Let's see if there is a statement from the restaurant after this time, I still have the receipt as proof if the review should be deleted via Google. Yes, I was there, on July 13, 2024, RE 52509 at 8:38 p.m.!

We had dinner in the restaurant. It was already very full, we didn't have a reservation but still got a seat. The waitresses were all super friendly and attentive, really great...unfortunately you experience this warmth far too rarely ♥️ The food (German cuisine) was really homemade, beautifully prepared and the taste was a dream.A really wonderful evening for us and a very clear recommendation 👍

Would have stayed the night at the Hotel Krone, but as their restaurant was closed that day, we chose the Hotel Adler lift further down the street. …
