Good hostel for larger groups. Extremely centrally located, great breakfast and nice service. Room and ambience a little shabby and the curtain hung askew.

Shared bathroom, clean room, plain and simple, no TV but Wi-Fi. Street side very noisy, actually for younger people, but they were also there in the Middle Ages.

Impressions are different. It's clean, but you have to make the bed yourself, and the bathroom is shared by several double rooms. The administration is in another building. You have to get towels at the reception, but they didn't give me one, so I had to go back and forth, wasting my time. This really pissed off 🫤There is no information about Wi-Fi in the room, so again you have to run to the reception in the neighboring building 🙄Some delusion!

Clean, quiet and homely hostel in a great location in lively Neustadt. Rooms have a locker and wardrobe. There's also a small kitchen and chill out room, not the largest or most open plan so its not the most social place but good if you want a quiet stay. Christian and Ludwig at reception are amazing, personable, professional and friendly with a great energy. They gave me many great tips. Unfortunately, the stay was tarnished by the larger female with the dark bob Lisa. Initially she was friendly but on my last day after staying a week I was due to checkout for a day as I was going away before checking back in a day later.I checked out late which is my fault although I made the cleaners aware that I've cleared the bed and they can come in and clean. When I tried to extend my stay on the phone Lisa told me it was fully booked, even though I had checked multiple times with other staff that there were plenty of spaces available. Eventually she told me I was not welcome at the hostel anymore due to my late checkout. She was abrupt, rude, dismissive and unprofessional and hung up the phone on me. This is after I had spent a week there as a paying customer treating everyone with kindness. Yes, I was late but this sort of aggressive, cold behaviour by this staff member is unacceptable. Deep down I'm sure she's a good person but I hope she gets some help as it is affecting the vibe of this hostel. It's a shame as the other staff are amazing.

Herken fellow travellers, lest you become the next victim!I regret to have no choice but to publish this objective review for future guests to take heed, because throughout the entire stay of five days everything was ideal and perfect until check-out, due to the biased incompetence of some uneducated, uncivilised employee. It is a huge pity because the check-in was extremely smooth with the key having been left in a deposit box overnight, and the payment settled later in the morning. I was even left a welcome note which was a lovely gesture. There were no issues during the stay. The dorms were clean, and the atmosphere was quiet. Awesome guests were also sharing the dorm.On Sunday afternoon 07th July 2024 the gentleman receptionist on duty was informed by me myself that I would be doing a late checkout at 1pm due to online work commitments, and permission was given to work in the common area by that same employee: a cultured gentleman who was wearing a cap and an interesting t-shirt.However, in breach of professional conduct I was greeted at 11am with a great thud and shouting behind the dorm door, despite being fully awake and ready for departure. I replied by asking the person to enter, but they left. Then minutes later as I was sitting in the dorm with all my luggage I was approached again with shouting and highly offensive language from the same individual. A middle-aged woman who I had seen for the 1st time, with black hair, slightly overweight, donning a black t-shirt, and around 160cm in height stood there at the dorm entrance. Without any pretext she was shouting loud, and I responded to her by saying that she could come and collect the key by herself and that she should not consider herself to be some royalty and quit acting like an infant. I mirrored her tone of voice, just exactly the same way she was speaking. At that moment she burst into fury and was forcefully ushering me out of the premises despite having informed the staff the day before that I had remote work to do. In reaction, I proceeded to the common room when she lifted the middle finger at me. Imagine a guest being shown the middle finger by someone who is supposed to be working in the tourism industry and representing Dresden. I actually reckon that is a legal offence punishable under German law.At that point, I then demanded to speak to the manager before leaving and proceeded to unpack my laptop in the common room to set up station. Shortly, she arrived back with an older man, who I asked if he was the manager. I got no reply at all from him, just stares, so I continued working in the midst of curse words from this primitive receptionist.Shortly minutes later, three police officers arrived at the scene. Alas, despite explaining the situation in detail to them and affirming to them I respect their authority, they sided with her lies that I threw the key and was violent and did not want to verify what she claimed with my side of the story or even review the CCTV footage, refusing to provide any details about neither the culprit's name nor her employer. That's what happened as it happened, and I was left on the street with no clarification from the three officers, one of whom claimed the manager was 'in a meeting' and declined to speak to me.Luckily I had already completed my stay there at the property and was on my way in all circumstances, otherwise imagine, fellow tourists, when you're thrown out without legitimate pretext and offered no legal way to guarantee your rights.Consider that and what random motives specific staff members might have towards you. What a huge shame for such unprofessionalism at a lovely property like that!

The rooms are very neat and aesthetic, the service is very pleasant and smiling, and the location is great - full of restaurants and bars. Breakfast like in a hotel. I recommend!

This accommodation is highly recommended! Private room for single occupancy. It was super cool to have the entire floor to myself. Although the bathroom and bathroom were outside the room, I was the only one using it. (But I stayed for the weekend) There is an elevator. The main building has a common area and a kitchen, which provides free tea bags. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets were super clean, and I had a great sleep. There are no disadvantages, and the accommodation in Dresden is considered cheap. Highly recommended. (There is a cheap laundromat nearby)
