Simple, clean room at a very fair price of only around 40 euros per night.Big plus point: I didn't realize how many nights I would stay, even though I was booked for four nights. Unfortunately, the reception doesn't speak German or English, but communication still worked somehow and I was able to decide every day whether I wanted to stay or not.

Once upon a time there were four friends who wanted to go on a trip. Like every year, Sunshine Live invited people to Retroactive in the Maimarkthallen in Mannheim. It was too far away for the four friends for a day trip, so an overnight stay was needed...So one of the four asked the Internet where you could find a good and cheap place to stay in Mannheim. And so he decided to book four rooms in House Baron 1.On the way out, another agreed to look through the reviews. It would be better if he hadn't done that... And the four of them thought to themselves, it would definitely be an adventurous overnight stay...The building is invitingly located on a small side street, directly next to a railway track. A gate, which is located to the left of the building, opens the way to the extremely romantic inner courtyard. Greeted by a shopping cart filled with empty bottles - especially alcoholic beverages - past a trailer parked in the green, greeted by beautiful orchids, the path into the house opens up via the inviting back entrance. The rooms are spread over 3 floors (ground floor, upper floor, top floor) + extensions, which can be reached via the inner courtyard.Four keys were already waiting for us in the key safe. We quickly agreed who could move into which room. The “chamber under the roof” was intended for the person responsible for choosing accommodation.We cannot confirm the smell of “decomposition and bodily excretions” described in the reviews, quite the opposite! A can of room freshening scent (probably vanilla) was sprayed in each room, which created an extremely good room climate.The shared kitchen is also beautiful. We briefly considered making spaghetti bolognese here, but ultimately decided against it.Summary:➡️ Rooms were mostly clean➡️ The inner courtyard is extremely unkempt and littered. We didn't come across any rats, but there is some potential for vermin infestation.➡️ Overall not inviting, just conceivable for an overnight stay without any demands on anythingTip for the owners:▶️ The fire department 🚒 can be reached at: 1️⃣1️⃣2️⃣▶️ 1️⃣1️⃣0️⃣ is the emergency call from the police 👮🏼

The same thing happened to me as the guest who couldn't check in. Rude and rude on the phone. Wanted to visit a friend on Neckarauerstrasse around the corner. Then I had to rent another room in Mannheim city center. People were very friendly there. House Baron not recommended.
