The hotel itself is nice enough, with very pleasant staff. We picked it as the website we used implied that there was almost nightly Balinese dancing shows etc, but what it did not stipulate is that there is an additional charge to watch these, even if you are staying in the hotel.Breakfast is basic with unusual options offered, but I understand they need to cater for everyone, including those that fancy fried rice and spicy Chicken at 7am!The duck from the main dinner was exemplary and something I'd definitely recommend if eating there.

The staff and beautiful grounds and location were top notch! A free afternoon tea was a fantastic benefit. Just what you would imagine for an Ubud resort. We also had a terrific 2 hour massage at the Spa that capped off our stay. We also attended two wonderful shows that are staged on the grounds. Well worth the admission price for the events. The included breakfast was also good with a good selection. While the room was super spacious and not cookie cutter, the bathroom/shower/tub is on a lower level, there are two VERY steep steps with no handrails and are stone so always a scary trip. Also no TV in the room (which was fine, but surprising on arrival). The “door” to the room was super flimsy and locked on the outside with a padlock, while you were inside only had a wood latch. Felt uncomfortable when I thought about how easy it could be easily opened. Also MANY stairs on the property, so beware if that’s an issue for you. We were far back on the property and construction was taking place on a new unit from 6:30 am - 9:30 pm every day, sort of ruined the experience of a quiet lush experience.

The structure is very beautiful surrounded by greenery and rice fields belonging exclusively to the resort. The rooms are beautiful but in some cases lack a little cleanliness and some areas of the resort could use some updating. We had the massage in the facility, unfortunately for a series of reasons the booked time was moved and we therefore had the massage late in the evening, the quality of the massage was just sufficient, furthermore the price is exaggeratedly high, outside in the resort there are massage centers with prices much more in line with the Bali average and also have a significantly higher quality. The breakfast in the morning was not excellent for the cost of the resort I would have expected a much better breakfast.
