1. The location of the hotel is really worrying, especially for a woman traveling alone. I walked from the train station and hotel between 12:30-1 p.m. and felt extremely uncomfortable.2. When I went from the stairwell into the hallway there was no light. The light switch is at the end of the windowless hallway. I had to shine my phone to see anything.3. The rooms are simply furnished, which didn't bother me. However, I went straight to the toilet and stepped in a puddle of urine with my socks. Apparently someone used the toilet because it wasn't flushed and there was urine on the tiles in front of the toilet. (see photos)Note: The bathroom itself had already been cleaned, but then someone probably had to do some small work afterwards. To explain:The room was booked for me (Booking.com | 4650241085) and I didn't stay overnight but stayed in another hotel.I drank a bottle of water from the minibar for €2 (very good price) and unfortunately discovered when I left that I only had €1.80 in change. Since the reception wasn't open again until the next morning, I put the €1.80 in an envelope and put it in the key return box along with the card. I noted on the envelope that I was unfortunately missing the 20 cents, but that the urine on the floor would certainly make up for it.The owner had email contact with the gentleman who booked the room for me. He wrote the following: "I'm a little confused. Because the note left by our shared guest doesn't mention splashes but rather splashes. Just as I accepted our guest's suggestion to settle the inconvenience by not paying the full price for the minibar. ..."--> it's about 20 cents. For me it has nothing to do with hospitality and professional service!Stay away from this hotel, the price is far too high for such a poor standard.

If you need this hotel as a stopgap, it may be fine, but I have several complaints.1. Defects regarding the tinmer. Firstly, the room was brutally hot and there was no air conditioning whatsoever. Secondly, the sockets were all in very strange places. For example, there were no electrical outlets near the bed, so I couldn't charge my cell phone in bed.2. My Zimmer card was deactivated a day early. So I had to call the emergency number at the entrance and the guy took a while to drive to the hotel to replace the card.3. This is the real reason for only one star. I may have left a ring in the room that has extremely high sentimental value to me. I called this morning and the lady told me. "Call back in two hours and my colleague will be there and can help you." I called again two hours later and got an automated response. "You call outside of our opening hours. These are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m."Extremely limited times for calling and the fact that the reception only seems to be manned by one person for two hours a day means that I really advise against this hotel. If the hotel sees this, please call back. I was the one on September 7th. called at 10 a.m. about the ring that he may have had during his stay from August 29th to September 3rd. left in room 22.

Bedbugs and bad management! RUN!I’m a scientist, I came to Heidelberg for a conference at EMBL. My institute booked me this hotel for my stay… what a horrific experience this was …I first arrived at the hotel in the evening (the reception was closed) however I managed to get my key easily through their keybox. But when I entered my room there was no electricity in it (no light nor electricity to plug my phone) I called the emergency number they had, they however did not answer. I had only 10% of battery left on my phone (so could not use my phone light nor call them later on… ) I therefore had to go out of my room and search for the electricity box myself. I luckily ended up finding it in the corridor and switched on the electricity back in my own room … very strange start of a stay in a hotel!Directly with the light on I noticed insects on the bed … as they did not look like bedbugs I did not panic too much and on the next morning, I informed the manager about it. They changed my beddings for the following night, which was the normal thing to do. However on the next night I noticed other insects on the bed (and those looked like bedbug! See pictures)When I informed the manager (tall, thin man with glasses and gray hair) at the reception desk, he first denied those were insects, he then told me that he could not control whether flies would go in the room or not (I’m a geneticist and study flies, these are NOT flies) when I said so to him he started being angry, shouting and told me that there was no bugs in his hotel and that maybe I brought them in myself! He then finished by shouting that bedbugs are normal to have that they are everywhere and that I cannot live in a bubble! He then just left me alone in the lobby! As I mentioned I am a geneticist and I am not afraid of insects! However bedbugs spread very rapidity and must be taken seriously! Indeed it can happen anywhere, but denying their presence and not trying to accommodate customers (by moving them in a new room) is simply scandalous for any hotel… I cannot emphasis how much I regret having to stay in this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone! Not only do they have insects (and don’t do anything about it) but if you have any problem, the manager will not assist you! Run away!

Deception..room not clean enough, very dusty carpet. I thought there was a missing sheet in the bed, but seems not, a rough and not comfortable sheet was used (mattress cover) and not a second bottom sheet as it should be. Bed not comfortable, too soft. Curtains too thin, completely useless. No reception in the afternoon, so if you have a problem you cannot complain. No kettle! Which is quite standard nowadays. No air conditioning.I don't recommend the area , practical because near the train station but ugly and unsafe. Quite far from the city center and touristic areas.Price too high for the quality.

Evaluation:My stay at this hotel was a disappointment. The location of the hotel in a dangerous area was worrying. In addition, there was no one at the reception since 10 a.m., which caused considerable inconvenience.Furthermore, basic amenities such as kettles were missing in the rooms, making it impossible to prepare even a simple milk for my child. This lack of amenities and care for guests is unacceptable.During breakfast I experienced an extremely unprofessional situation when the staff announced in front of the guests that everything had already been consumed by other guests, even though the food was prepared for 20 people. Such behavior shows a lack of professionalism and respect for guests.Additionally, I find it inappropriate for the staff to observe guests while they eat. This type of surveillance is inappropriate and violates guest privacy.Overall I can't recommend this hotel. The above-mentioned deficiencies combined with the unprofessional behavior of the staff affected my stay. It is urgent that the hotel corrects these grievances to ensure future guests have a pleasant stay.

Very pleasantly surprised. Given the very reasonable price, I came in with low expectations. But wow, though the rooms are small, they are quite nice. Recently remodeled it seems, and very clean. There’s a lot of attention to detail in all the small things in the design and upkeep of the rooms: someone went out of their way to cool all of the power cables for TV, phone, etc and cable tie them, there’s nice ledges for toiletries in the bathroom and inside the shower, and the bed is very soft. I’m not a fan of down pillows even though I know they are pretty fancy but if you are, that’s what they’ve got. And of course, the location is great.Check in worked out for me but was a little nerve wracking - I booked with Expedia and arrived after hours (the lobby closes at noon). They have a lockbox just outside the door for you to enter your booking number. I only had my Expedia itinerary number which was much too long. But I started entering it anyway and halfway through, my key dropped out. That was one big blast of relief!
