The Amedia Plaza is located very centrally at the end of the pedestrian zone and is probably integrated into an older building complex, as it is spacious and confusing at first glance. …

Hotel very windy due to old building. A labyrinth, especially for older guests.

I can't say anything about the rooms, but the service staff I've met so far at the breakfast buffet are very friendly and accommodating!!I'm here often to save food to good to go. I meet the staff and see the breakfast offerings. The buffet is sufficiently large and offers something for everyone. The location itself is unbeatable, because the hotel is integrated into the Postgalerie, which is right next to the Altpörtel and therefore at one end of Speyer's pedestrian zone. From here you can explore the city perfectly on foot. The cathedral, the Rhine, many churches and the ritual Jewish bath (mikveh, a shum site) are easy to reach from here.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the city center, everything is within walking distance. What is missing, however, is good information about how you can get to your room later in the evening or at night without having to take almost hours of wandering around. The house is very winding because the foundation is an old building. Otherwise, the hotel rooms are fine, as is the breakfast, although the presence of service staff would be an advantage.

We arrived late and had an appointment straight away. When we brought our luggage into the room, we were greeted by a terrible smell of sewage in the door. The window was already open. I quickly ran water into the bathroom drains, hoping they had just run dry. When we returned the smell wasn't any better. We slept with the bathroom door closed and the window open. The next morning the smell was even worse in the bathroom due to the closed door. The bathroom trash can was still filled by the previous person and the floor hadn't been mopped. At checkout we mentioned the smell problem and they thanked us for pointing it out and said that it happens every now and then. There was no courtesy from the staff. This hotel is absolutely not recommended. We couldn't have spent a second night there. I would like a review on Booking com. written, but was not asked to do so and was later told that my invitation to evaluate had expired.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days with a small baby and we can't understand the bad reviews. When we arrived we were immediately offered a cart for our suitcases and a baby cot and bed linen were brought into the room. A kettle was even brought to us straight away without asking and we have it every daywe get a new bottle of water to drink. The room was small but sufficient and clean. We had our room at the back and it was therefore very quiet. The breakfast was very good. Lots of choice and not everything is the same every day. You are immediately in the city center. All in all a great hotel and super friendly staff. We will definitely come back again.

Unfortunately, the whole thing was quite disappointing; everything looked quite solid in the booking portal, but not on site. When I arrived and checked in, I missed the usual phrases, something like "Welcome," or "It's nice that you're here!", or even "Did you have a good journey?".But none of that, instead the card reader was immediately and wordlessly presented to you, according to the motto, pay first before you move on.We then took the elevator to the room, the elevator door was full of stains and fingerprints, the mirror inside the elevator was splintered and poorly taped off.The window in the hallway to our room was wide open, and it stayed that way the whole time, both during the day and at night. When we left it was tilted and we immediately noticed a very musty smell, so it was apparently intentional that the window was open the whole time.A friend traveling with us had to change her room because hers smelled terribly. The employee said the problem was known. Our room was quite spacious in terms of size and also equipped with air conditioning. But here again there are lots of fingers and handprints on the air conditioning cover. Can't you just go over it with a rag?It doesn't have to look like that if you worked there.Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a housekeeper in the house who holds the scepter in her hands, because making the beds seemed to be a problem, it didn't look really good or professional, more like it was intentional and not done well. The bathroom was also a pleasant size, but again, points were deducted for cleanliness.Cobwebs and a big spider, which you definitely should have seen, the shower wall and the fittings were calcified, the windows and seals were dirty and a shower without a door.Since there was no drain in the bathroom floor, I don't assume this was intended to be an open shower. So when you shower you always unintentionally flood half the bathroom. You could hang a bag on the door if you didn't want to have the room cleaned, and you would get a little surprise in return. Our room wasn't cleaned, but we didn't get any surprises. In the evening for a drink at the bar, there isn't much there, even just one employee who also looks after the reception and then gets off work around 11 p.m.The fact that the drinks menu has a lot of spelling errors doesn't really improve the overall impression.Breakfast was actually served until ten o'clock, we were always there around nine and the buffet seemed to have been plundered. Here and there a lonely slice of sausage on the plate, some cheese, no milk, no glasses, no eggs, no more croissants.A tragedy. The small baskets for bread and rolls were simply stacked again without removing the crumbs from the previous ones. The table was set with new cutlery, but the crumbs and other leftovers from previous guests on the table were not removed. The toilet doors were again covered in stains, not a nice sight at breakfast. One morning during breakfast time, craftsmen in full gear were walking around between the buffet, otherwise the employees push their carts with used dishes and waste through the rows while others eat...that shows neither professionalism nor expertise. Also the lack of felt gliders under the chair legs, which would have improved the background noise enormously. The only really good thing here is the location of the hotel, very central. There is a public car park about a minute's walk from the hotel, where there are designated spaces for hotel guests. But you still have to get a parking ticket, which costs eight euros per day.The whole thing is very disappointing, especially for the price you're asking here. There is potential for the first house on the site, but no one seems to be interested.

Definitely not recommended.Anyone who gets a room on the street side will not be able to sleep - swapping is also impossible. According to the employee, the booking system is so outdated that you can't even swap rooms that haven't been assigned yet. Efforts from the staff are in vain.I know it differently from the hotel industry. If you can't sleep, you can't use the rest of the service, hence only 1 star.
