Many thanks to the Gut Haferkorn team for an unforgettable and worry-free wedding celebration in July 2022! We felt like we were in good hands right from the start thanks to the very courteous support from the on-site authorized representative, who always answered our questions during the planning process and addressed all of our requests (such as vegetarian main courses at the buffet; punch instead of a classic champagne reception; warm dinner the evening before ; breakfast buffet also for non-resident guests).Since the weather gods were not kind to us, it was a great advantage that the spacious area of the four-sided courtyard and the large marquee offered enough options for the different parts of a successful wedding celebration.Even though we had to warm up to the idea of a festival tent - after all, you have to provide a lot of the decoration yourself so that the struts are hidden and a festive atmosphere is created - we and our guests were thrilled with the end result. The rest of the area is also impressive: the outdoor area is ideal for taking a walk and offers lots of great photo opportunities, there are plenty of toilets and parking spaces, we spent an entertaining evening in the threshing floor with guests who had already arrived (including the opportunity for table tennis or a campfire), the very spacious Wedding room offered enough space for the bride and several friends. Gut Haferkorn is still a location with a focus on conferences and further training. Therefore, the high number of single rooms and only two real double rooms is understandable. Couples with larger wedding parties should therefore look for additional overnight accommodation in good time and organize a taxi (recommendation: Katja Düvert). The food was of high quality, received very positive comments from many guests and was well calculated in quantity. Both drinks and food are regionally sourced. The delicious bruschetta as well as the Kritharaki salad, the farm ice cream and the crepes with different sauces were particularly praiseworthy. The chili con carne (with meat/vegan) the evening before was also very tasty.Only the bar crew needed their time to prepare the drinks and couldn't always answer questions competently (Aperol Spritz and Lillet Berry are not the same thing), but things will certainly run more smoothly at the next party. For future weddings, we recommend providing classic wedding paraphernalia on site for rental fees. Unfortunately, it was difficult for us to find, for example, a florist or rental company who could provide a wedding arch from the area. Therefore: offer a wedding arch, easel, balloon vases or candy bar utensils or games like Kubb and Jenga (possibly for a fee), and you can celebrate a carefree and dreamy wedding here! In terms of price, the location is still within a reasonable range, interested brides and grooms should consider whether they can forego a flat rate for drinks in view of their company. In GH you are only billed based on consumption.
