We would like to protect short vacationers who are thinking of spending a weekend on Poel in the “Hotel” Zur Seemöwe in Kirchdorf from having the same experiences as us. We feel cheated (not only of our money, but especially of our weekend). Don't be fooled by the pictures and descriptions on the website! We booked a “comfort room” and an “apartment”. In addition to the pictures and descriptions, we primarily used the price asked directly from the hotel as an indicator that we were booking something of high quality. Before we left Hamburg on Friday at 3:30 p.m., we called the hotel to ask whether the reception (as described on the website) was still occupied at 6:00 p.m. We couldn't rule out arriving shortly afterwards. The answer was “No, we have been working overtime for weeks, we are leaving now”. Reception is no longer manned from Friday 4 p.m., and on the other days only half-day or until midday. The café/beer garden described on the internet was also unserviced/closed upon arrival (and on the other days). There was no such thing as a hotel bar or any kind of friendly introduction for new guests. At least we were able to get the keys from the safe and went to our rooms. The comfort room was ok (even if the woodchip wallpaper, very low ceilings and grayish “curtains” certainly no longer correspond to the accepted standard today). The room was superficially clean (not so good in the corners of the bathroom, the window frames not so good either, cobwebs in front of the windows, a battery in the smoke detector was missing, ...). Otherwise it was an “okay” room. The apartment we booked, however, was a joke. When you think of an apartment you think of a “sleeping area separated from the living area”, a separate kitchen (at least a pantry), maybe even a balcony, right? Everything was far from it. An anteroom, a bedroom, a bathroom. Complete. The whole thing was so narrow that you couldn't stand or move anywhere. Rest as before. Unfortunately there was no staff present anymore, so we moved into the rooms first and thought that we would be able to clear up the mistake when we checked in the next morning. The next morning we went to reception and said that we weren't really happy with the rooms, that we had booked an apartment and whether there had possibly been a mistake. This was actually against the background of the flexible idea that we would have been willing to move again and also accept a price reduction. Unfortunately, we then discovered that the staff must have been career changers who were completely overwhelmed. No hearing, no attention, no understanding, no support and above all: no service. Definitely not recommended for the price.

Very nice hotel, unfortunately my room didn't have a fridge and the harbor is easy to reach on foot. From there you can easily take a boat to Wismar. The ship runs on electric drive 😅👍. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Can only recommend. You can also buy something to drink and food on board.

Great apartment for 3 plus dog. Clean and practically furnished. Climate or fly screens would have perfected it.Very nice reception. Unfortunately, the restaurant and café were closed to the public. But there are great restaurants at the harbor.10 minutes by bike to the beach. There were still free beach chairs on the dog beach even at 11am.

Easy booking, but the reception was not open upon arrival (but were there during the opening hours mentioned, according to the website). A note on the door indicated a telephone number. Easy to clarify, key was stored in a key safe. The room simple and very small. The garden view was of a shed with a strange cage attached. The nights are horrible. The cage turned out to be a cat cage. The poor cat screamed half the night and kept us awake. The first breakfast was disastrous. No contact person, confusing concept. When asked, sloppy answer.Rooms clean and good location for excursions.

We think this hotel is really beautiful, we've been to the Seemöwe for the third time in a short time and we feel at home. Breakfast is great and really tasty, the hotel is close to Restaurant Bensons so a visit is a must… Unfortunately the hotel is 2.0 km from the beach, but you can rent a bike… Kind regards, the Kielblock family
