Staff was nice, the rooms were very old and located in the basement. The air was accordingly (old carpet everywhere, musty). There were broken tiles in the bathroom. My room constantly smelled of cigarette smoke because people were smoking in the hallway or room above me. Despite comments made twice to the staff, nothing has changed. Very unfortunate. The bed was very small and squeaked with every movement. Not suitable for people over 180cm. Breakfast had a very limited selection and on Sunday, rolls from the day before were served... :-( (You could clearly see it and that's how they tasted). They were cheap baked rolls.Because of the MeLa, the prices were probably more expensive...in any case not an appropriate price-performance ratio! The invoice should be paid in advance, which is also very unusual. But probably so you can't just cancel it if you don't like it.

Very nice little hotel. However, you always have to go up several steps. The staff is very nice and responds to requests. The breakfast is very good, if you have special requests you just need to say it the day before and it will be taken care of. Mrs. Wedel, the housekeeper, pays a lot of attention to cleanliness. And is very friendly. The Hess family too. If something is broken in the room, it will be repaired immediately.

Very quiet and cozy hotel. The rooms are sufficiently large and comfortable and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The landlord is also very friendly and strives to ensure the guests' satisfaction. The breakfast buffet is rich and offers everything for a good start to the day. Gladly again.

Very nice guesthouse. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. Requests are addressed directly. The rooms are sufficiently large and WiFi is also available. The breakfast is very good and if you have special requests it will be taken care of until the next day. At €10, breakfast isn't too expensive either.

Not for cyclists. My bike was placed under a carport in the constant rain to make room for a car.

A very beautiful, cozy and friendly atmosphere. Very nice and lovely people who run this guesthouse. We have been here many times and would like to come back again and again. Highly recommended. The best and most extensive breakfast

A nice guesthouse, I personally can't understand the negative comments. The rooms are simply furnished. You sleep peacefully with occasional bird noises. Private free parking space is available. Owner is friendly and polite.

We stayed at Pension Hess for 6 days. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The family is super nice and responds to the guests' wishes. Unfortunately we have to leave again tomorrow. We would love to come back and can only recommend this guesthouse. Thank you for everything❤️

Rooms are absolutely tastelessly furnished, extremely musty and in the attic (we had to ask for a fan). The owner's snarky comment: "Yes, it's warm in the summer" - Yes, if you're so smart, why isn't the fan already in the room?Stairs to the rooms are very steep and dangerous (absolutely not recommended for older people!).There is also a "communal kitchen" directly under the roof (people over 170cm can't even reach the appliances under the steep slope) and the only window there has a sign saying "Do not open!". How one is supposed to use the mini oven standing there directly under the slope without a window is very questionable. There is also no tap in this kitchen, so you have to take the kettle with you to the room. The dishes in this kitchen appear to be "conservatively estimated" around 40 years old.The bedside table was initially behind the foot of the bed (so completely pointless). The "curtain" - a collection of red twine that looked like the costume of a rather underpaid night dancer - neither provided darkness nor kept these insects away, but it still made it difficult to get to the window. The red tones of the "curtain", the cheap imitation leather chairs and the carpet didn't match at all, so we preferred to leave the light off.The beds are so squeaky, you can't even sit up without waking the whole room. The toilet flushes in the other rooms echo throughout the house, so it's better not to go to the toilet at night!I've never had such back pain from a mattress, I always thought it only comes with age. Wrong thought.Oh yes, the TV that hangs on the wall directly above the headboard has such a bright blue standby light that shines right in your face. So you first have to unplug it (the socket above the TV towards the ceiling of course) in order to be able to sleep at all.One wonders what the point of this is.WLAN didn't work on the laptop (Windows 10) either, after confirming the conditions (via FritzBox) the only message I got was "Server not found".The breakfast is like almost everywhere: absolutely the cheapest selection of soft bakery rolls, every portion of butter, "jam" (sugar jelly from the very cheapest), cream cheese and so on (all individually packaged in plastic), the cold cuts are also from the very lowest category. The room in which breakfast is to be eaten is also just stuffy, you want to run out again immediately. However, the fried eggs were freshly prepared for us and the owner inquired extensively about any food intolerances when we arrived. The garden is also very cozy, after all.So it wasn't all bad, but to seriously commit to "The Little Hotel", well...Humor is when you laugh anyway.
