We were guests at the Hotel Alpenhof in Krün from September 3rd to September 11th, 2024. We had booked a suite with a balcony and half board. The room furnishings - at least the suite - are very old and worn. …

I wanted to treat myself to a long-awaited wellness holiday at Alpenhof for three days and was unfortunately very disappointed.Maybe the positive first:The 4-star Hotel Alpenhof in Krün is located in a central but quiet side street. The complex with the hotel garden makes a very well-kept impression. The holiday region is fantastic. The service and room cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.Unfortunately, there was still no feel-good atmosphere. My “super room,” as the boss called it, was clean and functional, but showing its age. The carpet urgently needed to be replaced, as did the pillow, which smelled very unpleasant.Unfortunately, the company's website promises more than it can deliver. The wellness offer consisted of a 'spa area' with extremely limited times of use as well as massages that you have to book yourself away from home. All you receive as support is a business card. The worst thing, however, was the head of the house.I have never been treated as unfriendly and rude in a hotel as I was there.I had already contacted you by phone in advance about an overbooking. I was already surprised at the tone here: "Wellness, wellness, we're not the Kranzler here."No matter what the topic was, the boss became abusive and always emphasized that, with her 40 years of experience, she knew what she was doing and would not allow herself to be manipulated. After I couldn't get a word in edgewise and the junior boss then pointedly positioned himself next to her, I left early after one night and still had to pay the full price. The hotel may be fine for transit. For a multi-day (wellness) vacation, however, it's an absolute no-go for me!

Basically a very nice hotel that really makes an impression from the outside. The rooms are maximally functionally equipped. We had quite a small room. The pillows are, well, a lump of something that can't be shaped. They should be replaced. The beds were fine. The breakfast is functional, I was hoping for more. The rolls from the bakery are absolutely great. The breakfast eggs, unfortunately, were absolutely cooked through. But maybe that's how it should be. Otherwise, basically everything was there. The dishes could be cleaner. Twice we had chipped plates at the breakfast table. The service at the table was okay. You came to breakfast, someone put out a pot of coffee, there was nothing more. There was no one at the reception most of the time. At check-in we asked about the charging station for the car, but didn't receive a card. Charging wouldn't have been possible either because the two parking spaces were reserved for rooms. And these were always full in the evenings. If you advertise a charging station, it should also be accessible without having to ask the guest who has reserved the parking space (and also pays for it) that you can possibly charge there. Very strange system. The day before departure we asked if we could pay in the evening. The answer was: Yes, but it only works until 5 p.m. because there is an event coming up then and so no one is there or not before 9 a.m. the next day. Payment is possible in cash or with EC. When I asked about the invoice I said: I can print it out for you pro forma. All in all it was okay. The starting point for hikes etc is excellent. The service could be nicer. Wishing you a “nice day” etc. would be great too. The bread delivery guy did it ;) We didn't use the pool because it was just too hot. But it made a good, clean impression. We didn't use the half board. So we can't say anything about it.

Last stayed here 12 years ago , it was good then but has since had a lovely refurbishment. I stayed in single ensuite room 22, very light and airy with a large balcony with mountain views. The room has mini-bar / small fridge. There is a small pool and lovely large wellness area with saunas and steam rooms. Bathrobes are provided.I booked half board. Breakfast is continental with the addition of scrambled eggs. You are allocated your table at first meal and you may be sitting with others - nice way to meet people. Half board is a four course , soup, salad, main and sweet. However, there are only 2 options, vegetarian or non vegetarian ( beef/,chicken/fish). You pick your evening meal at breakfast. There's space for about 20 cars. I dropped a star because there is no evening meal on Sunday which is staff rest day. I brought a fan and I'm glad I did. The only improvement I would make is a small table on the balcony.

We have been to the hotel several times now. As a couple, family and also with in-laws. Every time we had a great stay at the Alpenhof. The food is really great and a great system with the HP. The swimming pool is also great, our children love it. The rooms have always been very clean and we felt comfortable. The hotel has the perfect location in town. Parking spaces are available.Very nice hosts, the Schober family. The employees are also all courteous and very nice. We are already looking forward to our next stay at the AlpenhofKind regards, Family B.

Beautiful, family-run hotel in a quiet location. Great service and very clean rooms with a great view. Large selection at the breakfast buffet as well as a varied 4-course menu in the evening, which was very tasty. Also a very nice wellness area and a very good price-performance ratio.Thank you Schober family & team for the lovely stay!

The hotel is a bit old, rooms are functionally equipped, I found the breakfast buffet to be quite "clear" (unfortunately on both days it was pretty much empty by a hiking group right at 7:30 a.m. and not refilled).Staff friendly. Parking spaces are available at the hotel.

Front desk staff was very helpful. South facing rooms on the top floor have magnificent views of the mountains. Sitting on the balcony watching the sunset and the sunrise was spectacular. Krun is a quiet village where you can escape the crowds of Garmisch. Area attractions are an easy drive away. You might have a similar experience in other Krun hotels, but I really enjoyed Alpenhof.
