Solid no frills, no fuss hotel. As others mentioned it's old school so you give them your room key every time you leave, but honestly I can't blame them especially during Oktoberfest fest when people would probably lose it otherwise. Location is right next to the festival grounds and about a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station so pretty simple to get to old town as well. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Shower is kinda small, but it wasn't a huge deal. The 24/7 warm drinks was awesome in the chilly weather!

Access from Central Station takes about 20 minutes on foot, but you can get there quickly by using the metro. The staff is very kind and they even have a Japanese city map available.

Lack of basic hygiene in the room (huge balls of hair on the toilet brush holder), no or insufficient soundproofing due to the old building (hard floor in the room), chair has no Vils pads, which means there is a noise throughout the whole house.

If you're going to Oktoberfest, you want to be as close to the Theresienwiese fairgrounds as possible. Hotel Westend is the perfect location for the festivities! Decent prices for the location and definitely check them out for Oktoberfest!! Prost!!

Original message: OK for the price, a bit noisyStays: Oct 21 & Dec 22Update: Apparently an attempt is now being made to have the original message deleted because of defamation, although I don't quite understand what constitutes defamation.We stayed in the hotel twice and both times we were able to talk to the people in the next room and understand the conversations in the hallway. Clairaudience is even putting it mildly. But we found it OK for the price and for one night.There are other aspects of the hotel that I should have written about that would have justified an even lower rating.Maybe something positive, the breakfast was more than OK for the price (hopefully this isn't slander again)

Great place for an affordable hotel that is close to Munich HBF.The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Free Wifi with great speed.Free and free tea, coffee and apples in Reception.Breakfast was excellent value at 8€ per person.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Munich.

We were guests for a long weekend. The hotel is centrally located, with the tram (approx. 3 minutes on foot) it is only a few stops to the main train station. There is a large shopping center around the corner with many shops for shopping. Our double room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was renovated and we also had a small sofa in the room. The employees were friendly and attentive at all times. We were particularly happy about the friendly receptionist who offered us hot tea and coffee on Friday night when we came back completely soaked from the Metallica concert. Together with the hot shower, it definitely saved us from the cold of the year. The breakfast buffet is really unbeatable for €8. There are even small white sausages, fresh fruit salad and tomato mozzarella.You can't complain about the price-performance ratio. We'd love to come back!

Clean hotel, great place. The service was also very nice. The reason why I give 4 stars is because of the noise reduction of the room. The location of the hotel is a big advantage. A short distance from the railway station, a short distance from Oktoberfest. The shops are a short distance away and the bakery is right across the street.

A quiet hotel with a good location. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the old town, which is reasonable. The breakfast was delicious. The price-quality ratio is definitely in place

We were in Munich because we wanted to pick something up and only booked 1 night without breakfast. As a woman, I wouldn't dare go out on the street alone in this area. Everything in front of the house is full of construction sites. The hotel is very inconspicuous. When checking in, it was more important to talk to your colleague than to tell us what we actually needed to get the key. We were told the elevator didn't work. In return we get breakfast. That was great. The room is very small and the bathroom is even smaller. There was no room for two people. The flush button was partly broken and since the shower itself was already very cramped, the hot/cold control was hanging behind your back when showering and you couldn't stand upright. The room is incredibly noisy. If someone was at the door it sounded like they were in the room. We also didn't have a smoke detector in the room! When we went to breakfast in the morning, some of the guests were already finished, the tables hadn't been cleaned and the service staff constantly had the kitchen door open and were talking loudly. We got the cutlery from other tables. Because we are not sure whether they can speak German. The breakfast itself was ok. I don't want to go into it any more.For the price it was ok. But will not book this hotel again.
