We booked one night there without a lake view. Since a room with a lake view was available at the time, we were able to upgrade for free. The food was very tasty, the location by the lake is fantastic. The rooms are comfortably furnished, but the cleanliness is lacking here and there. The room cleaning seems to be messed up. Other guests also reported a lack of cleanliness in their rooms.

Not a real hotel. The first impression when you arrive is not misleading. It's even worse. We were invited to a party in the Wallerei, but unfortunately there were no 4-bed rooms there. The hosts got us a room in the Karwendelblick and because of the pretty attractive brochure (see pictures) we didn't investigate further. A big mistake. We should have been suspicious at the reception. Cables sticking out of the wall and really huge cobwebs right on the counter. Our key wasn't there at first. The cleaning lady then brought him. Unfortunately, probably before she could clean the room. There hasn't been any vacuuming here for a long time. The floor was dusty, especially in the corners and under the bed. Speaking of bed. Unfortunately not the attractive one from the brochure (there are probably renovated and non-renovated rooms), but an old metal bed. With every movement it made endless noises. Much worse, however, was the mattress, which didn't fit at all. It stood a long way over the side of the bed and had a hump in the middle, so that as soon as you turned you had the feeling of lying on a slope. The joints in the shower were moldy from top to bottom. The cabinets are a good 40 years old. Smashed mosquitoes on the wall. There was a note on the door saying that due to energy costs the rooms would only be made on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We were there from Friday to Sunday and it wasn't done. The door seal is in a bucket, some sockets have no power, the television is not hung on the wall, but simply placed on top of the wardrobe directly under the ceiling. Generally a room like in the youth hostel 40 years ago. Speaking of which, there is one right next door and I can only advise everyone to go there. 4 nights are cheaper than 2 at the Karwendelblick. But the hammer is yet to come. You can only pay in cash there. The nearest savings bank is 15 minutes away, the next ATM is 5 minutes by car at the tourist information office, but there are fees. You then get a 3% deduction.Breakfast was no surprise. Sausage from the pack, baked rolls. Absolutely no space at the tightly packed buffet. At least the view from the terrace was wonderful. We didn't want to have breakfast there on the second day and let them know. Also that our room wasn't made. Instead of an apology, the woman just said that we would get a 3% discount (because we paid in cash). The whole store is very questionable and the price-performance ratio is the worst I have ever experienced. 368,- for 2 nights in a dirty shack. No idea where the money goes. In any case, it doesn't go towards staff, high-quality food, furniture or a caretaker. Anyone who is happy to pay a lot of money for a dirty shack with a great view is welcome.

Great location, ok food, quick but not very convincing for the hefty prices. Kaiserschmarrn was really bad when it came out of the ready-made package (even children who actually devour everything sweet didn't eat it). Toilets very dirty, a shame.

It's a good starting point for hikes and great activities, if you ignore some things, such as the fact that the hotelier sits in front of the computer with his dog and has zero interest in the guests, let alone greeting them. The staff hardly understands any German and I don't speak English to anyone in my home country. The breakfast was okay, if you came to breakfast a little later, you had to clear the breakfast dishes from the table yourself, otherwise no one from the hotel staff would do this.If you're looking for a mixed salad without dressing, or a Wiener Schnitzel under a thick, champion sauce, the Hotel Karwendelblick is the right place for you...Conclusion for me: 1x is enough!!
