Nice 3 star hotel.I was here for a seminar for 2 nights. The kitchen staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food is very good, both at lunchtime and in the evening. There are 3 dishes to choose from, 1 of which is vegetarian.Breakfast was also very good and extensive for a 3 star hotel including orange juice. My room was very large and clean. The entire hotel is barrier-free and accessible to disabled people. The other single rooms are said to have been very small and cramped.Swimming pool is probably no longer in use. (see picture)Location for hiking and cycling 1a.We recommend a hiking trail directly at the hotel across the meadow towards Hörnle.Seminar rooms are all new and clean.

This is a nice quaint and quiet hotel in the middle of Bavaria. It is nestled at the base of some beautiful mountains and rolling pasture land. The location is awesome. The rooms were nice, modern rooms; however the lack of a microwave and refrigerator means you can't keep cold beverages in the room or heat beverages up at night. Water was not made available every day. The people are great and super friendly. The reason I gave 4 stars for service is because the reception desk is only open from 0800-1700, making early checkout and late check in difficult. The restaurant is adequate with a decent menu if you have short stay. However, the breakfast is limited and the same everyday. The lack of variety and limited choices coupled with the repitive selection makes the 10.00 euro every day hard to justify. The evening bear garden is enjoyable.

The hotel is picturesquely located in the Ammergau Alps and is surrounded by a spacious park with a children's playground. The house is adapted to blind visitors. For example, the room numbers are in Braille. For better orientation, there are handrails on the walls so that rooms can be found more easily. Special rooms such as the guest relations office are also marked in Braille. The elevator can speak and announces the floor you are on to get off. There are also Braille labels here. There is a guidance system in key areas of the hotel, similar to the lines found at train stations. There are pivoting railings at the top of the stairs that must be folded back before going down. Guide dogs are generally allowed in the hotel. The exception to this are rooms for allergy sufferers. We had booked one of these comfort rooms for allergy sufferers. The room is very spacious and has a large closet, a bench, a bed with bedside tables and a table with a chair and a wastebasket. A bench is available as additional seating for guests. The television has voice output. The bathroom has a shower with glass doors, a sink, a toilet and a trash can. The towels can be hung on a towel radiator. Be careful: the shower mat was in the shower when we arrived. It can later be hung on a hook on the right of the door, for example. Liquid soap and shower gel in the dispenser are available. There is a hairdryer to the right of the sink. Unfortunately the bathroom does not have a window. However, the ventilation system is better than expected. The sink is quite high, and there is storage space for cosmetics underneath. In the bathroom, the shower faucet is a bit unusual: there is a single lever. If you move it to the right, the water turns on, and the temperature can be adjusted forwards and backwards. We had a very large balcony with flowers, an absolute asset when the weather was nice. What is somewhat inconvenient is that all rooms face the main road, so the noise can be heard at night. The curtains also let a lot of light into the room. There is a large-button telephone in the room, which you can use to call the information desk on the internal number 365, among other things. Here you can find, among other things, the menu, the guest list and the daily program. Walks, hikes and other activities can be undertaken with guest services, but these must be booked in advance. Guest service is only available in the mornings during the week. The guest directory is also available in Braille. The hotel also has a Braille library, a bowling alley, sauna and a seminar building. Unfortunately, the swimming pool has been closed, which is a shame as many guests certainly don't have the opportunity to go swimming so comfortably. The main meals are served in the restaurant. There is also the Bierstüberl, where smaller dishes and drinks are offered. The staff is very friendly and, if desired, will help you find the food at the buffet. I would like to say a lot of praise to these people. Everyone is very warm and helpful without being intrusive. An absolute plus of the house. The food is good and varied. At lunchtime and in the evening you can order from the menu or choose a larger menu. The dishes vary quite a bit in size. The sausage salad in a jar is very tasty, but is a rather smaller meal. My absolute favorite is the Kaiserschmarrn with applesauce, a very rich portion that is simply part of a vacation in Bavaria. The breakfast is rich and included in the room price. There are, among other things, various rolls, bread, muesli, cornflakes, yoghurt, fruit, jam, sausage, cheese, honey etc. as well as juice.
