Pleasant hotel in a quiet location. Good starting point for hikes to the Brocken. Checking in without staff is not a problem. Breakfast excellent. Gladly again.

The hotel is in the Harz mountains National Park and close to the former East/West border. Entrance is via a code you have to call the number on the front door to obtain. No reception. You only meet any staff at breakfast. Breakfast is good. The room was ok if a bit dated. The shower worked on the first night but the second night I could only get scalding hot water no matter how I tried to adjust the thermostat. Luckily there were showers in the sauna room. No provision for any meals other than breakfast. I would suggest eating well during the day before returning to the hotel as there didn’t appear to be anywhere local within walking distance and no information in English.

A well-preserved hotel, much of it is already showing its age. The reception is never staffed but the breakfast here is really amazing, very rich, I was thrilled 😄My summary I would love to come back 😉

Excellent hotel. You should not choose the hotel for the view. We lived on the 2nd floor. The double room was a good size. Very large wardrobe and large bathroom. Electric kettle and option for tea/coffee in the room, cold drinks can be bought at the reception (self-service)We stayed there in the low season and there was no receptionist in the foyer, but a phone number you could call and with a code you could get your key.There is a receptionist present every morning in the breakfast restaurant. Nice breakfast buffet with many choices. Guests are offered to pack a lunch from the buffet and take it with them.The hotel is well located in relation to hiking routes in the area and is very close to the tourist information.When you have paid the tourist tax, you get discount coupons for attractions in the immediate area and free bus tickets for all days.

Everything was fine. It smelled quite strongly of chlorine and the tap water also tasted strongly of it. The breakfast was delicious, the service was fine. Gladly again for hikes.

The REGIOHOTEL Schierke Am Brocken is a house with history, which is why it looks a bit old-fashioned, apart from the extension, but it is really beautiful.It's located on a small side street in a super central location in the countryside. We had a room with a view of the spa park, which absolutely did what it promised. From our room we had a wonderful view of the spa park, but also of the Wurmberg.The room was a suite and therefore very spacious with a bed, couch, coffee table, a desk and a large bathroom. We would happily pay the few euros more for this room again, but that's a matter of opinion.At breakfast there was a large selection of spreads and cold cuts and a view of the front towards the spa gardens.There are sufficient parking spaces right next to and behind the house and the hotel's location is ideal for hikes across the Harz National Park and for reaching some of the Harz Hiking Pin stamps. Schierke train station can also be reached on foot in just a few minutes.There is a bakery, a supermarket and a few smaller shops in the town itself, as well as a few restaurants.All in all, we were super satisfied with our visit here and had originally spontaneously booked another stay for the end of our vacation, which we unfortunately had to cancel.Definitely a clear recommendation!EDIT July 30, 2024:We stayed at the Regiohotel Am Brocken again and were really looking forward to it, but unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. We suspect there has been a change in ownership/management. The staff was still friendly, but while last time the porter gave us tips about the area, as well as explanations etc., not a word was said this time. We only got the key. The room, this time a double room, was getting old, but ok, although the spoons were so dirty that they stuck to the plates.Unfortunately, the breakfast, which we were already looking forward to, wasn't as good as last time. The rolls were standard baked rolls and unfortunately the selection of cold cuts was also less.The deteriorating quality was also discussed at the next table, so we weren't the only ones disappointed.We decided to check the reviews again before making our next booking and then try another hotel if necessary.

Had a room on the second floor. The noise of the elevator could be clearly heard and a door closed very loudly. The cleanliness of the room was not 100%. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.Checking in on arrival via cell phone takes some getting used to.

The two of them were stranded as racing cyclists in Schierke late in the evening and got keys from the machine over the phone.- Breakfast buffet great, inexpensive

We arrived and the hotel was NOT cleaned. There were sticks and old plasters, and there was dust from I don't know how long. When we wanted to open the window to get some fresh air it simply fell off. We tried to find someone who could clean the room and repair the window. On the 6th day, someone finally came to "clean" our room. The dirty cups that had been drunk from and still some of the peel had not been picked up and there was no vacuuming. However, they had put our duvets and towels together. I am very disappointed with the whole thing.

We really enjoyed the night in the Regiohotel, bright, nice room, coffee and tea facilities, kettle, nice shower with shower gel, everything was available. And the breakfast in the morning left nothing to be desired, good coffee, fresh ingredients, scrambled eggs, muesli, for every taste.The hiking route to the Brocken begins directly behind the hotel. We'd love to come back.

We, a 56-year-old couple, stayed in the hotel for 3 nights.The rooms are a pleasant size and well equipped. The mattresses take some getting used to but are still ok.The bathroom is simply unreasonable (see pictures; mold, etc.). The power cord for the hair dryer only goes over the sink. There is no ventilation, the towels don't dry. After showering everything is fogged up (walls and mirrors)Breakfast from 8-10am. On the first morning at 9am there was almost nothing left at the buffet. The service staff was only clearing the dishes, plates for sausage and cheese etc. were not refilled. Coffee had to be reminded several times. Multivitamin juice was available (at least something)Day 2 (new staff) for breakfast at 9am the same sad sight at the buffet, even the scrambled eggs were empty. The juice dispenser was completely empty; but was filled again after appropriate notice. Coffee like day 1. No refilling the plates.Day 3 (different staff again). Breakfast shortly after 8 a.m. (departure day) full buffet was immediately refilled as soon as something was empty. That's what you can expect.If you're unlucky and have under-motivated staff on duty, then good night. You can book rolls with butter cheaper.
