Unfortunately, the surcharge (approx. +20% of the room price) for bed linen and towels was not mentioned in "booking" and this is unacceptable or a lazy trick.

Terrible experience! I don't recommend it to anyone. We stayed at this hotel and had a terrible time. We paid around €35-40 each and we were all forced to sleep in one room, an unacceptable situation for the price paid. As if that wasn't enough, we had to prepare the beds ourselves upon our arrival. The towels provided were in decidedly poor condition: they were small, the type used for the bidet, and as soon as they were wet they smelled terribly, making it impossible to dry properly.Overall, the experience was really disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and I hope they take serious steps to improve the quality of service.

Price of the rooms is very expensive, dirty rooms, towels paid separately were truly unpresentable, with all the costs paid you are forced to take the sheets at the reception and take them to the room, there is no room service, a horrible experience, uncomfortable beds

Hostel is centrally located to the old town etc. The rooms are good, clean and spacious. The breakfast is manageable 😉 packaged jam (2 types), honey, cream cheese, sausage in an aluminum can and margarine & chips for the coffee machine. Unfortunately nothing fresh, such as fruit, cold cuts, cheese or similar. Water or juice couldn't be found either. The host's humor and sayings were special 😉😎

Most important information: Issuance of the tourist tax confirmation and the ticket for the HVB is mandatory even for one night! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! We stayed here for one night and were there at 1:40 p.m. After ringing the bell at reception we were told that we shouldn't come back until 2 p.m. at the check-in time. At 30 degrees it was sporty and not really nice after a long journey. But well, opening times are opening times. The room, on the other hand, was really okay, beds were quite comfortable, bathroom and shower were very large and clean. The only problem: the water didn't maintain the same temperature and was either ice cold or very hot.The bed linen (for €4.50) had been cleaned, but there were still small stains on the bed sheet and small black hairs in the blanket. We're not particularly fussy, so the hairs were shaken out and it wasn't that wild for us, other guests might not be so accommodating. The next day breakfast was extremely sparse, the “sausage” was a packaged ham cream that didn’t seem particularly appetizing. Hot drinks for €1 were included, but this only included black coffee and espresso, so cappuccino and the like were not included. What unfortunately didn't make the overnight stay a pleasant experience for us was the service. Doors always locked. Breakfast until 10, 9:59 a subtle suggestion was made to us by turning off the lights that we should please leave. Even after paying the tourist tax, the corresponding bus tickets etc. were not given to us. Explanation: you only get this from 2 nights. When we asked at the tourist information center, we were told that the issue was mandatory even for one night. So all in all only 2 stars and another stay is no longer an option for us.

Very clean hostel with nice staff. We stayed here for 1 night and we liked it. Wernigerode can be reached on foot. However, the room facing the street was very noisy.

Price/performance top. Room comfortably furnished. Mattress clean. No stains etc. In general everything was very clean. No matter whether entrance area, reception, dining room or hallway. The only disadvantage for me as a motorcyclist: no parking space. Public street parking only. There is a parking garage about 1km away that is open 24 hours a day for €8 per day. About the location: 4 minutes walk to the old town. 800m to the bakery and Penny. 30 minutes walk to Wernigerode Castle. So very central. Breakfast also good. You can't say anything against two rolls with different spreads and a coffee for €5.50. All in all, a clear recommendation. The only surprise was that you should have your bed linen and towels with you. My mistake. I didn't read the email completely. You can also borrow them here for really little money. I think I paid €8 for bed linen and a towel.
