The hotel is not particularly modern, bathrooms are very rustic, rooms are functional but very clean. Reception and service in the restaurant deserve 5 stars. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired.

Recession 2024After two years I visited the hotel again, and unfortunately the result was even more negative than two years ago.-Room-Very modern, beautifully furnished, great beds.I find the windows very dangerous, the railings are very low, a child could quickly climb over them unsupervised, you have to be careful here.-dining hall-Unfortunately it still looked like a train station hall, everything was very loud and in the evening it was very dark, and the ventilation apparently wasn't turned on either, an unbearable air when 70 people are there. The light switch wasn't turned on either. During dinner you had to literally look for your food with the table lamp or cell phone lamp.-Service -They are nice, no question, but unfortunately they have no experience or knowledge, one or two of the service staff don't even speak German, that's not a bad thing, but it's not exactly helpful for a place like this. Here you can see that the lack of skilled personnel is, unfortunately, enormous.-food-Two years ago the food on offer was really good and everything was very tasty, and this year the lunch and dinner were unfortunately not of a good quality, everything tasted the same and was very bland, the cheese plate was very carelessly prepared, and the same here you noticed that there seems to be a shortage of skilled workers right in the middle.-The breakfast-Selection is good but there is no question of serving it here, as it was in the package it was put on the plate carelessly and not clearly, very, very sad. The early staff should also get up an hour earlier so that you wouldn't be able to tell that they don't like mornings, and maybe then they would also say good morning.-Reception-Nice, friendly, clean clothes and asked you if everything was okay.________________________________________The hotel is a bit stuck in time, the staff is always attentive and friendly, the rooms are clean and big enough, unfortunately with carpet, which I personally don't find that nice. You can take a nice walk behind the hotel

We are regular guests at the Hotel Freizeit In and are always thrilled. The spa area is the main reason for the frequent visits (we visit this even without being a hotel guest).A huge sauna area with great staff!The hotel is great too. Clean ! Quiet (despite being directly on the motorway) All in all, ideal.We have also used the Freizeit In as an event location. A big compliment to the event planner of the house.A hotel that really has something to offer for every occasion.

After more than ten years I was in this hotel again. I had an appointment at 8 a.m. on October 3rd, 2024 in Göttingen and wanted to combine this with a nice time in the Vital Spa the evening before. But I had to start before opening time the next day. I had arranged a packed lunch from 7:30 a.m. because it was a public holiday and the alternatives weren't very generous. This was confirmed upon booking and arrival and in the morning they were not there. The buffet was completely set up and we were given our money back immediately, but we would have liked to have waited a few minutes and would have preferred a packed lunch. That wasn't even offered. The room was fine and bowls for the dog with a treat were available. That was really nice. The room was clean, but had more of a 90s feel. But the price is absolutely up to date and the dog and vital spa as well as breakfast and parking come on top of that. Personally, I would have preferred a shower in the room. The bathtub was very slippery and the fittings were quite old-fashioned. The service overall is very reduced and does not correspond to the price. The location is very remote and the only real draw is the Vital Spa. Even after more than ten years, this is a real highlight for me personally.

Of course there are good days and sometimes bad days, but yesterday the Freizeit In in Göttingen, or rather we, had a really, really bad day.Since only a small corner in the foyer opposite the bar was lit and therefore recognizable as a restaurant area, we had to wait standing for a good 15 minutes, even though less than half of the tables were occupied.After we were assigned a table, we ordered our food, for which we then had to wait another 60 minutes.The waiter, who seemed overwhelmed, noted our comments/special requests but apparently didn't pass them on to the kitchen. Very unfortunate.I had a burger with fries. I had to send the fries back because they were completely burnt. My wife had already eaten her salad, which she had waited an hour for, before I got hold of the waiter again. The success - I took the cold burger home with a follow-up portion of fries. The hunger was there. ...but it didn't taste goodSo we give the ambience 2 stars,1 star for the serviceand the kitchen 0 stars. The disappointment was of course very great, as we consider the price for this poor performance to be far too high.We can't say anything about the rooms or the hotel service as we were only guests in the restaurant

First the best, 5 stars for the nice bartender who knows her craft and mixes the cocktails with passion and shares recommendations. You have to keep this colleague/employee!5 stars for the sports area. Everything is there, with explanations and the gym is up to date. Top!1 star for the reception at the reception. We thought we had all the information by handing us the room keys. We actually had to ask ourselves questions about everything. Where to go to the spa area, how does the chip work, where can you have dinner - we were in the wrong area and were directed away, this is only for guests with half board. In the restaurant we were welcomed by the nice bartender across the street because the person in charge wasn't there. First we were asked if we had made a reservation and if necessary we could have eaten in the bar area. Well, finally, after waiting and deliberating for ten minutes, we got a seat.To the spa area:1 star is still too much for the cocktails. We ordered a Tequila Sunrise and got a brown cocktail with ice. When I asked how it was mixed, I was told: They were out of the package and were left over from a conference. €8.50 for a cocktail from the pack?!But the normal food was fine, tasty. Price performance was okay here.The Roman sauna is covered in mold. If you sit down there, you can immediately take a mold steam bath. Your health will thank you.The other sauna areas were fine. The garden area outside is really beautifully landscaped.We (had booked a girls' trip for one night two weeks ago) then booked a massage at short notice. This one was fine. Nevertheless, we started later and finished late.The breakfast was better, plenty of choice. As an improvement, I recommend two fully automatic coffee machines so that there is no jam and to put the coffee pots there too. With a full house, you're almost done with breakfast as the pots are brought to the table. Absolute bright spot, the omelette is prepared on site by a chef upon request.Now how do I come up with this rating overall? For comparison, I was in another 4 star hotel with a spa area. In comparison, the Hotel Freizeit In has a lot of catching up to do. Be it from the service to the spa area and the rooms that need to be renovated. Unfortunately the 4 star rating is too high for me.Definitely recommended for a night in transit.

We can't complain at all for what we wanted for that one night. The room is clean and big enough. You can also open a window because there aren't many cars driving past the hotel (on our side). The only thing we have to complain about is that the beds were uncomfortable, as were the pillows and blankets. Service at the reception is good, everyone is friendly.The location is on the outskirts of the city, but unfortunately not so on the outskirts that you can easily go for a walk. And then again it is so far away that it takes a relatively long time to get to the city. But this is a really subjective rating, as it really depends on what you are booking a hotel for.But otherwise it is an advantage that you can eat well here in the hotel and there is a wellness area.I can say that the restaurant (which, by the way, you can also eat in if you are not a guest in the hotel) is a 10 out of 10. The food tasted great. There was wine advice to match our meal and it matched like a glove. Our waiter Mr. Jankowski (I hope I spelled it correctly) really made our visit to the restaurant a wonderful experience. It was fascinating how well he knew about wine and how passionately he talked about it. We will be happy to come back.

I've been there several times and I've always liked it. It's great that you have a hotel and sauna area in one. There are many different saunas in the sauna. Unfortunately, the loungers are often permanently occupied by towels. More could be seen here. The food is good. Breakfast very good. The buffet in the evening is just like that. A la carte is more expensive but very tasty.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet and great service.Mega large fitness and wellness area with really well-designed courses (yoga), great saunas and delicious food in between.My clothes that were forgotten in the room were also sent to me free of charge. Thank you very much for that and have a nice stay!We'll definitely be back.

We booked the hotel for 2 nights and it was ok so far.However, for a 4 star hotel, we would have expected that the minibar would have been filled with at least a bottle of water, instead of a card that says "Off the mouse" please what kind of service is that?We also fully understand the need to save resources, etc.And we're happy to accept that you don't have to change the towels every day.However, we still expect the rooms to be tidied up such as trash cans emptied, beds made and possibly dusted.In our opinion, this is not about saving resources but about service and we do not only expect this service if you book a room for longer than 3 days but from the first overnight stay.In some areas you can see that the ravages of time are eating away at the hotel both inside and out, but they are already in the process of modernizing.The parking fee of €15/day is debatable. This might be ok for visitors who only visit the sauna/wellness etc., but for hotel guests it would be nice if there was a discount, especially since you are forced to park in the parking lot and you have no alternative/possibility of parking elsewhere near the hotel .Otherwise, the reception staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great.We can't comment on the wellness area because we didn't use it.Nevertheless, we would probably look for/book another hotel if we visited Göttingen again.

We simply wanted to spend one night in Göttingen and then simply called the hotel to get advice. The advice was very friendly and helpful. :)We arrived in the evening and were able to quickly get into the beautiful room with a nice bathroom.We parents were able to unpack in peace while the children occupied themselves with nice welcome bags (with small toys, gummy bears, etc.) from the hotel - very attentive!We then actually swam in the pool (buoyancy aids available) and then spent the night on very comfortable beds.The next morning (Sunday) a really fantastic and very tasty breakfast buffet awaited us. You could even have had a fresh omelette prepared for you. A dream!We just wanted to stay overnight and were thrilled. The children are already asking when we are going to the hotel again. 😃 Thank you for the lovely stay!

The service is very good, the location is also good. Parking costs 15 euros, if you are there longer parking becomes cheaper. The price-performance ratio is good for the room. Breakfast costs 22 euros, is sufficient and varied, but whether it's worth it is another matter.
