Since my last visit almost a year ago, the room service and therefore the cleanliness have deteriorated significantly. There was no vacuuming and no used glasses/cups were exchanged. Strange hair fell out of a supposedly fresh towel. Shower partly with mold and both shower heads heavily calcified. Unfortunately, the lady at the reception was not accommodating but rather snippy. In general, I remember the staff being friendlier.

I stayed here for 2 nights on business and there was nothing to complain about. Very, very good breakfast with fresh bakery rolls, scrambled eggs (made from eggs) and waffles etc. Rooms were very modern and large. Parking right in front of the door. Gladly again on your next visit!

We booked a room in the Akadenhaus for one night at short notice the day before. On the day of arrival we were already there at lunchtime. We asked if we could use the hotel's own parking lot. A very friendly and nice employee welcomed us. Not only was it no problem to park there in advance, our room was already ready (actually check in at 3 p.m.). The hotel has very spacious rooms, for example for breakfast. With the room card we went to the hotel. Our room was very modern, clean and had everything you needed. As a hotel guest you could book breakfast for €10 per person. The breakfast was great. The hotel is very centrally located, but our room was still very quiet. We felt very comfortable here and can recommend the hotel.

Unfortunately we were only able to enjoy this hotel for a short weekend, but we were very, very satisfied. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. The rooms are cozy and functionally furnished, the bathroom is equipped with a modern shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and out went smoothly. The breakfast deserves another special praise! Everything you could want was there (well, at least we were). A great selection of treats, including chocolate kisses and Berliners.All in all, the hotel is a clear recommendation. If you are spending time in Papenburg, then book your accommodation here, you won't regret it.

Very centrally located and still quiet. Plenty of parking space and charging facilities for electric cars. Upscale atmosphere, large, modern rooms with air conditioning. The bathroom is modern and functional. Elevator allows access to the upper floors.Very varied breakfast buffet with fresh ingredients in a more rustic atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The restaurant offers many dishes at acceptable prices - but it takes a relatively long time.

Interesting hotel concept. Various self-service restaurants downstairs during the day, whether it's lunch or coffee time. Had a great panoramic suite, large and spacious, modern and brightly furnished. Great breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. Perfect central location with a fantastic view of the town hall and canal.We were very satisfied.

Breakfast was very good. Garage for bicycles unfortunately very overcrowded 😐Parking space is free but traffic like on a main road was often used as a shortcut.Room was okay so far, cleanliness was a little bad, they've probably already worked on it. Otherwise we were very satisfied 😀

Never this hotel again.Reviews and general impressions on pictures are definitely misleading. Serious problem when it comes to cleanliness.Good breakfast and location and that was it.The toilet was still smeared with feces from the previous person, the sheets had lots of stains, some of which looked like blood, and the general cleanliness left a lot to be desired. For example, there were coffee stains, generally poorly wiped surfaces, a lot of dust in the ventilation outlets, etc.The silicone seams in the bathroom were black/needed to be replaced because they were leaking on the shower wall, among other things.Some of the joints in the bathroom had crumbled and the remains were still on the floor. This shows how well the housekeeping cleans.....not.In the shower, both shower heads were so heavily calcified as if they hadn't seen a cleaner in weeks and the water was spraying in all directions.But the big hit was that hair was scattered everywhere. There were some on the bed/under the sheets, carpet shelves in the bathroom etc. and when I ran the water in the shower it didn't drain but a whole load of hair immediately came floating up and blocking the drain.Due to our late arrival, the reception was no longer manned and we had to call the 24-hour emergency service. He came after the announced 40 minutes and tried to take care of the problem. The alternative was another room. The cleanliness was a little better there, but there was still too much dust in the heating, ventilation, on the light switches, in all corners, etc. The silicone seams looked unsightly/black/broken again and the wall there was already damp. On the shower head this time there was less, but still unacceptable, limescale and the rubber nozzles were missing/were pushed into the shower head. There was already hair around the shower drain again. Because there was a shower and a sink in the room, there was a constant underlying smell of drains, which was also quite unpleasant. Speaking of the sink, the tap there was already green calcified from below. Underneath there was a leather-look stool that was completely ripped off.In the room where the toilet was, the wall around the windows was damp, which will probably mold in the future. You can't get the toilet brush out of the stand unless you can handle holding this unhygienic thing with your other hand. There was also a rotary control in the toilet chamber, the cover of which was completely loose.The beds here were again stained and had hair. Since we had no other choice but to sleep in the car due to the time of day, we had the emergency service guy freshly make up the beds in the second room and generously cleaned everything we touched with our disinfectant, as his statement was more like fresh beds are not available. The hotel doesn't have many rooms, so I suspect that it looks like this in most of them, since it was like this in two rooms that we sawA real horror evening, but at least the breakfast buffet was nice, which is an interesting contradiction to the condition of the rooms. As compensation we were refunded the money for the room including breakfast, but that doesn't make it any better. We were very happy that we didn't book several nights there.I would like to add pictures but unfortunately Maps always deletes them.

First of all, we didn't spend the night, we just ate. We ate yesterday in the front part of the restaurant. The pizzas were very tasty. The service called through the restaurant and was far too loud overall. The corner where we sat was not clean. There were crumbs everywhere on the floor, even a piece of a torn off ketchup packet was under the table. The television (I wonder what it's doing in a restaurant) was covered in fly droppings. In general you couldn't save yourself from flies. I used to come here often for breakfast. This always took place in the other part of the restaurant. That was always great.

Hotel with a great atmosphere! Rooms new and very good!But unfortunately not good service.... What's going on here??There were two of us and we wanted to eat something in the arcade house in the evening. We were completely ignored for almost 40 minutes. We then brought the cards to the table ourselves. It was only when we asked that they responded at some point and the drinks were taken. One of the older waiters kept running back and forth and looking more at his cell phone....?The service in the restaurant urgently needs to be improved. For us, the far too long waiting time and the ignorance and associated unfriendliness of the service staff are a major reason for not coming back. It's a real shame because the atmosphere and the hotel/room etc. are recommended.
