Very simple, with a lot of GDR flair, even some guests looked like GDR protagonists, walking around with FDJ T-shirts and other former GDR symbols. You have to like it. Otherwise great location. The price is probably okay, because in youth hostels you now pay more than €80 for a couple's room.

Typical hiking accommodation.A bit outdated, but very clean rooms, good beds and an excellent location. Good (hotel) restaurants are within walking distance.

A nice guesthouse. The breakfast was really great and made with a lot of love. Checking in was also super easy and contactless, great if you're walking the Hexen-stieg and you don't know exactly when you'll arrive. The room was clean.

Great guesthouse, breakfast was very varied. We were there with a larger group, were allowed to look after ourselves in the evening, the room was provided for us, great. Very friendly people.

A great guesthouse with a great, nice, hearty family. Everything is great, clean, you can't ask for anything better if you're looking for a break from everyday life. For euro 91 for a room without breakfast we got a clean but really small outdated room with squeaky beds and small bathroom. It was ok, but the whole place requires a facelift. The reception lady was very friendly and I loved that they trust people to grab drinks and pay later, but for us the overall experience was a bit blast from the past.

A simple accommodation for active hikers or bikers who want to pursue their hobby without much luxury. Some people will miss the TV in the room, it is in a lounge. A shared bathroom isn't for everyone either. There are good restaurants nearby for a delicious dinner. If you want to drink something in the evening, you can help yourself to the fridge and pay into the trusted cash register. The breakfast was very good, fresh and tasty.

The guesthouse is clean, nice staff. Unfortunately there was no staff in the house upon arrival and you couldn't check in straight away. You had to call first and then get the code for the key box. Grill had been pre-ordered but unfortunately not available immediately. Someone had to come first Give out the grill.Pension has something like a school camp. The toilet and shower are in the hallway for all rooms but everything is clean.For the price of 75 euros for a 3 bed room that's ok.

A house designed with charm and great attention to detail. The rooms are not 5 star suites, nor are they supposed to be. They are practical for sleeping and storing clothes. For the cozy part, there are different seating areas that invite you to linger. The operators and owners are extremely nice, warm and sweet. Everything is taken care of and everything is done to ensure that you feel completely happy and that your four-legged companions are not neglected either. The breakfast is highly recommended, the scrambled eggs are fresh and delicious, as is the rest of the varied buffet. Simply perfect, thank you for a few wonderful days and a dog-friendly New Year's Eve!!!Kind regards Franzi and Nico.

We were guests at the Pension zum Hexenstieg in Schierke for 3 days, received a very warm welcome and immediately felt at home. We actually only wanted to stay there for 2 days, but we were happy to extend it to 3 without any problem. The operator is a very warm, nice and courteous person who is always keen to fulfill the guests' wishes. The guesthouse is very quiet and yet fairly centrally located, restaurants and attractions are not far away. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the service was 10/10 anyway. We'd love to come back.

In this guesthouse we took our second rest after the Brocken descent. We were warmly welcomed in the evening and given a brief introduction to the house. The guesthouse is huge. In addition to the rooms, there are several cozy lounges. TV sets can also be used there. There is no TV in the rooms. WiFi everywhere with enough bandwidth for easy SD streaming. Drinks can be purchased 24/7 relatively inexpensively. Coffee, hot water and tea are included in the overnight price. It was also nice that I was allowed to fill my thermos flask with tea for the rest of the hike. The room is bright, simple and functional. Everything was super clean. The walls isolate sound from inside and outside quite well. The breakfast room is friendly for morning grouches. Pleasant acoustics. The breakfast is diverse in terms of offerings. I just couldn't find the Harzer scooter. Well, he's not everyone's friend either. In summary: good price-performance. Particularly suitable for short vacationers or hiking travelers.
