Good hotel, outdated but with charm and history!!! Still not old.We didn't even wait outside the dining room in 4 days. The breakfast was decent. Fresh goods. The lobby bar is well stocked and the service is courteous.The reception was nice.The rooms we were allowed to secretly look into looked good.The swimming pool was OK too. Whirlpool, waterfall, whirlpool, showers, loungers, everything ok.We didn't visit the sauna in the basement.Parking garage at the end of the hotel €15 per night, fair.Unfortunately we didn't make it to the restaurant. But it looked inviting from the outside.But I can somewhat understand the negative reviews; on the way to the parking garage we walked through the corridors, where the train goes directly past many of the rooms.I suspect that many people here book rooms on the Internet, look for the cheapest offer, and then expect a luxury apartment...We booked directly with the hotel, no online crap. This meant they were even cheaper than the network with the smiley tariff for 2 days or more.In any case, the Achtermann gets a thumbs up from us and we would come back in a heartbeat.Thanks to everyone there. We had a great time.

The service on site was excellent for us. In order to avoid the rush at breakfast, there were signs indicating when it was quieter and when there might be waiting times. The breakfast left nothing to be desired.The rooms are small and functional. Clean, only in the bathroom you should change the shower curtains after each guest. There were already very wide "germ edges" at the bottom that were more than noticeable with a white curtain. The hotel is quiet and centrally located. The only disadvantage is the rooms in the wing facing the railway line. You have the feeling that the train is driving right past the bed. Luckily it was quiet from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Doesn't have to happen again.Positive: The staff was always very friendly, especially in the breakfast room. Because of the disproportionately small size of the breakfast room, the ladies and gentlemen did everything they could to not make guests wait too long. Very attentive and efficient when distributing tables. Breakfast was rich and good.During the day you could often see cleaning staff trying to keep the hotel clean.In my opinion, the ladies and gentlemen at the reception steeled themselves internally when someone came to the counter with a serious face. Despite a certain coolness, they tried to help the guests.But, my second impression confirmed the first. I have already paid 4-star money for other 4-star hotels with much more comfort. At the beginning I had a half bottle of water on the table. My slatted frame in bed was broken. I pointed it out and also said when I wouldn't be in the house so that there was enough time to fix it. After a long day I came into the room and nothing was fixed. I was upset and the receptionist then said, well, it's checked off the list here. Showed some lack of communication. We agreed to move. We went to the room together only to discover that it was not ready for occupancy. So we went back to the ground floor and started looking from the beginning. The new room felt smaller and I'm not sure if it was a different room category. The door seal on the bathroom door was broken and hanging down. No offer of (small) compensation.It was only for a week, but I wouldn't do it again.The staff (at the reception) seems overwhelmed when it comes to the usual check-in and check-out. (A family arrived a day early and that took almost 45 minutes with computer input and the involvement of several colleagues. I think it's too long.)All in all, I can't imagine that this hotel will stand up to another 4-star review. It's stupid for the staff, some of whom try to keep the store running under the circumstances. Overall, the best thing about the hotel is the pool and the Italian restaurant across the street.

I wanted to spend 2 nights in the hotel for my birthday and left after the first night. Swimming pool cold, 5 loungers available, far too few. Rooms are getting old. Breakfast for a 4 star hotel was a joke e.g. scrambled eggs like rubber, 3 different types of sausage, disgusting yellowish white sausages, long queue at the coffee machine even though there was one that wasn't on. The only positive thing is the location.

General:The hotel is quite nice. The entrance area exudes a pleasant atmosphere and the structure of the hotel is beautifully designed.Room:Unfortunately we had difficulties with the room (map didn't work, heating was broken and the train could be heard every 20 minutes)Wellness area:The wellness area was okay, but there was no talk of peace here... Several children were playing extremely loudly and were in the sauna every now and then.In my opinion, here you should plant plants, turn on soft music, increase the air temperature/water temperature and install more comfortable lighting.Breakfast... It was the first time that I had to wait 20 minutes for a breakfast table in a hotel (on both days, despite different times). The buffet was quite okay, but there wasn't enough quantity, it had to be refilled frequently and you often had to wait for the sausage platter and the butter. Perhaps you could expand the buffet during peak times, add fish and offer one or two highlights.The lady at reception was very friendly and accommodating.All in all it was okay.

The single room is definitely too small.The service leaves a lot to be desired. In the morning there are more than 20 people queuing in front of the breakfast room and they are extremely disheartened. We skipped the breakfast we had already paid for and went to a café.It was not possible to have dinner at the hotel. We were not allowed in as hotel guests because we had a party to look after - they said.There was also no recommendation or help with reserving dinner in Goslar.A service was subsequently invoiced for which there was no order/reservation/booking. Nevertheless, a debt collection agency is threatened.The location itself is good. However, the outside stairs are an imposition in winter. Unfortunately not free of snow and ice.These grievances mean that this hotel cannot be recommended for me.

I would have preferred to read the reviews first.Our room was a disaster, walls dirty, door frames, windows with pieces of paint everywhere. In the room, the relay for outside lighting is so loud that sleep is unthinkable.Door in the room cannot be closed because it is blocked. Gardens are all broken at half past six.Our room faces the street. Despite the window being closed, there is noise from outside at night so it is impossible to sleep.Wellness pool whirlpool cold.In the Fist Class Hotel you have to buy a bathrobe and towels for 4 euros extra for quite a bit of money.Parking in the parking garage next door.Trains pass loudly behind the house.Breakfast man is full but for a first class hotel.A hotel that is kept alive.

The rooms (we had booked 2) were in a very bad condition (defective radiator, lamp on the bed threatened to come off completely, dirty minibar, black mold in the bathroom, toilet creaked dangerously on the front wall (loose), standing in line for breakfast (very long queue), very noisy environment. The only - but really only - advantage is the proximity to the center! Overall, we (3 people) were very shocked and disappointed - on the hotel website and on Booking, we had other rooms We decided to book. The condition we found was appalling; a change of accommodation or other accommodation (price reduction) was not possible from the reception. I would definitely advise against another visit to the hotel!!

Unpleasant experience, I'll start by saying that for a business trip with my wife I was in Goslar and I decided to stay in this hotel, the rooms were almost good, the cleanliness was ok, the mattresses looked like straw to me they looked old and not very comfortable , but the worst thing was in the evening when I decided to have dinner in the hotel, the food was delicious but I can't say the same about the staff, they were incapable and listless, they looked like sloths, I don't think they know what hygiene is, they put their hands everywhere , the dishes were probably those of the next table only slightly rinsed, and last but not least there was a tall, tall man, who only later I discovered was the manager, who was staring at my wife in a very ambiguous manner, continually licking his lips, and His wild eyes were intimidating, so I decided to change my wife's seat, but promptly he turned to the opposite side of the table, which annoyed me a lot, so much so that I remained on alert all evening for fear that he would appear with that perverse look. from behind a corner. I returned to the room and together with my wife I decided never to set foot in that place again, advising anyone I knew against it by telling them what had happened. I don't know who chooses the staff, but finding people like that is decidedly unpleasant, I would much prefer a tent in the woods. My room was absolutely fine in terms of size. I don't think it's really a bad thing that the room is only cleaned every 2 days, especially since this hotel communicates it quite openly.The mattress in my bed was really sagging. I literally sunk into the mattress. The bathroom was ok, with one exception. In my opinion, using shower curtains is not possible these days. It's just disgusting when the curtain sticks to your body want.The location directly on the train tracks is also borderline. Especially since you can clearly hear the trains in the room.For vans, parking directly on site is a matter of luck.

This is much better!Slightly dirty room (cobwebs, stained floor), broken floor tiles in the bathroom and service that ranges from “good” at reception to “poor” in management.Two examples: Charging a cancellation of a single room at 90 percent of the cost is no longer appropriate.Renting out a conference room with bad air and a poorly clean interior - see door facing the street - for 135 euros (for 4 hours), even though everything else in the house is empty, doesn't fit into today's times. And the drinks bill was only canceled when we asked.In conclusion: The "Achtermann" can get older and live on without renovation, we are simply looking for another hotel in Goslar - a very beautiful city. And if you are interested in further grievances in the hotel, you should read the other reviews.

Great wellness short break. The hotel including the room was very clean, the bathroom was a dream, designer sink with illuminated vanity, pure luxury. We were able to relax in the spa area and enjoy the pools. The hotel staff are consistently friendly. The friendly beauticians in the beauty area were a dream, after our massage everyone came back with a smile, always happy. Thanks to all the employees at the Achtermann Hotel for their great work in offering our guests a wonderful stay.Our three-course wellness menu was also a culinary and very impressive highlight during our stay. So I 100 percent recommend this hotel and hope to be able to go there again soon.

Nice atmosphere and very centrally located. From the public parking lot you can get directly to the hotel ("back entrance"). The staff is very friendly and the breakfast service is attentive. Breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied. Rooms and pool were clean, great (unfortunately I have often experienced otherwise).👍
