A beautiful hotel, it reminds me terribly of older European castles and villas, excellent breakfast buffet, the only drawback is that the equipment of the "gym" (if you can even call it that) is not the best, it is more like a part of the gym called the "cardio corner" treadmill what doesn't work, only cardio machines, two 5kg dumbbells, two exercise bikes and a paddling simulator. You don't get much exercise there, but what an emergency it's enough. I would recommend buying at least a large axle and more discs.

We really enjoyed staying in the suite. If you like wood and rustic things from the 70s, this is the place for you. The dogs are taken into account and the service is great. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very accommodating.

We were warmly welcomed by a member of staff and the facilities were explained to us. We were given a cozy room with a large balcony on the 3rd floor under the roof in Haus Diana. Unfortunately there is no elevator there and we had to drag our suitcase up there. Since we arrived on Sunday, the first dinner took place in the neighboring hotel. The second dinner was again a la carte. The next evenings will be buffet style.First there was a soup, the appetizers on platters were a blast with salmon, schillerlocken, rollmops, etc. then various cheese and... Types of sausage, fruit.The warm dishes were varied but some were convinience.On the 1st and 3. Tomorrow we couldn't take a shower in the morning because the water was cold.There is a small swimming pool with pleasant temperatures, a Finnish and...a steam sauna that you had to register in advance. The Finnish one was too cold for my liking as it only heated up to 60 degrees. The steam sauna was really hot.From Hahneklee you can go on beautiful hiking tours. Unfortunately, due to a construction site, the town drive is only passable in 1 lane, with corresponding noise and noise. Dust nuisance. Free parking spaces are available around the hotel. With the spa card you get the so-called HATIX ticket, which allows you to travel by bus throughout the Harz for free.We would definitely book the hotel again.

The hotel is a bit old, but it is supposed to be renovated and it is being taken care of. What we liked best was the good food. That was really one of the best things about the hotel. The staff was very nice and the service was good too.We had had a nice few days.

Well folks, for me it was four relaxing days with great trips to large parts of the Harz mountains. Schierke and the Brocken are great. But also the surrounding area around Hahnenklee. The hotel in the Alpine rural style, which stands out from all of them, is honestly a little old, but still has a certain charm. A lot needs to be done, and when the renovation begins in the next few months, it will certainly be a point of attraction again in and for the small, tranquil town of Hahnenklee. Nothing despite the fact that, contrary to some unpleasant statements, the staff is very, very friendly and extremely helpful. Once again, we would like to thank you very much for the relaxing days with you.

Ideal location for small and large tours in the Harz. Very spacious rooms, cozy guest room and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast and dinner offerings are balanced and tasty. Very nice small swimming pool with an acceptable temperature. The only downside: the heater makes annoying knocking noises. Conclusion: We will definitely be back👍

Entrance hall with bar is completely my taste! Rustic wooden design with natural stone fireplace. The reception was very polite and helpful. The breakfast room has a charm that I personally really like, with a wonderful view of the lake. Similar to reception. Unfortunately, the furniture in the rooms is very out of date. The furniture is free of damage, but loosely from the 70s. Unfortunately, the outside area didn't look very well maintained. Maybe it's better in summer. Breakfast only standard. The coffee pot was always only 1/2 full and therefore had to be refilled 3 times, but this was done without any problem. A bit embarrassing, on the first day there weren't enough juice glasses, so they had to be collected, and on the second day there weren't enough bread baskets. Fitness room and swimming pool are available, but not a highlight. I can imagine the hotel could be a top class hotel if everything was updated. So it was a satisfactory, affordable stay. Ps: the beds are for people who like to sleep on a hard mattress.

We recently spent 4 days at the hotel and really enjoyed it. The location on the lake and right in town was great for short hikes into the snowy mountains to the toboggan run and the ski lift - although it will remain closed until Christmas.The hotel is designed in a cozy country house style and the interior feels like you've been transported back to the 80s, which is by no means a bad thing. This makes it look so typical and rustic - it reminded me of a vacation in the Harz Mountains with my parents when I was a child.Overall, everything was clean and tidy despite some signs of wear and tear on the upholstered furniture or carpets. We enjoyed using the Finnish sauna (approx. 75°C) and the steam bath. The showers with the cold water grotto and the lounge area were nicely furnished. Towels and bathrobes could be borrowed free of charge - if any were missing, they were brought immediately.The bar corner with a large fireplace on the first floor was well attended and cozy on the weekend. However, the upholstery could use some cleaning.The staff was very friendly and attentive and added rolls, eggs and cold cuts to the rich breakfast. The dinner consisted of a menu with two main courses to choose from and was overall good and enough.Instead of our double room, we were kindly upgraded to an apartment, which was significantly larger. The furnishings from the lamp to the toilet seat were also original from the 80s (green ceramic basins), but clean and everything worked except for a socket. WiFi also worked smoothly everywhere in the house.Conclusion: Overall, the hotel needs a renovation in some small details - which is already underway - but all in all we felt quite comfortable there.

My impressions are slightly mixed. The ambience is wonderful, everything is overflowing with 80s charm: reception, stairs, bar and dining room are built or lined with many cubic meters of oak, plus lots of velvet and plush. Very friendly staff.Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of staff there too: the bar was closed (so we had it to ourselves as self-catering ;-)), and because the cook was sick, we had to go to the neighboring hotel for dinner.The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was rich and tasty.Our room was clean and tidy, unfortunately one of the two beds was very creaky.Hahnenklee itself is very nicely located, it's only two minutes from the hotel to the center.

We liked it here.The atmosphere is rustic, not to be confused with old, disgusting or shabby. That wasn't it.We had a large apartment with two rooms and four beds. The beds were freshly made every day.View of the stave church.The staff was extremely friendly and always had a smile on their faces.The breakfast and dinner buffets were huge and very tasty. We recommend.The hotel is located at the end of the Fuzo and is also ideal for hiking and excursions. In the evening it is quiet in the building.We didn't use the pool area. Unfortunately the bar was closed.The audience is on average older than 60 years.Negative: The bathroom is a bit old. And you may want to take a closer look when cleaning the mirror and toilet seat.The carpets on the walls in the elevator don't have to be there either.Otherwise there is no reason not to come here again.
