Super-friendly family business high up in the Bavarian Forest.Dinner here is always a real treat.But unfortunately a star is deducted because the scrambled eggs for breakfast are only available without bacon or ham, because there are vegetarians in the house, and that always seems to be the case 😱 well, I have to understand that or not...The dog run around the hotel is huge and there are plenty of leisure activities in the area.The 3-room apartment is a bit old, but it is nice and big and has a balcony on which the sun shines until midday.

Ideal for hiking with a dog. Hotel is fully adapted to dogs. Rooms from 20 sqm to 60 sqm. Beds with very good mattresses, very clean. Half board, rich breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., eggs in all variations. Dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., starter, 3 main courses and 2 desserts to choose from. Excellent cuisine. Very nice hosts. Dogs are allowed everywhere. Huge terrain withDog swimming pond. Directly in the Bavarian Forest. Highly recommended.

Very quiet location for a holiday...with various options where you can go, e.g. glassbesery in the next town...it is ideal for anyone who has a dog, for example, and wants to have a cheap holiday. And the dog is also allowed into the restaurant and it costs nothing for the dog to stay overnight!!!!!!

We stayed with our two dogs for Christmas / New Year 2021/2022 in this very great, clean hotel with its cheerful, friendly host people. A very pleasant, rustic, delicious atmosphere.We had two really great weeks with a very excellent 7-course menu that was really impressive. Even though we were actually here because of the snow and no one lay down for longer, it was just fantastic.Already booked for 2022/23 and if nothing gets worse it will definitely continue like this. What should also be mentioned in general is that my wife always had something to eat for her lactose intolerance and if, for example, there was no lactose-free dessert, one was made specially.Thank you very much, family AlthausSo now we were here again in 2022/23 and felt even more cared for than the year before, I had circulatory problems and what does Andreas (junior boss) do? He goes into the apartment, gets the blood pressure machine with the message drink two cokes and it will be fine again. Whatever happens, all-round care is very important. Thank you very much for that.New year 2023/24Yay, finally vacation again and in such a great hotel. We will now be on track for the next 3.5 - 4.0 hoursand are really looking forward to meeting the Althaus family 🫶🫶👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We had a week's vacation at the Bärenhof dog hotel in Philippsreut and we really liked everything.Food, accommodation, everything was great, the area around the hotel was very nice, especially for dog owners.Our little dog felt right at home here

As a family (children 10 and 12) we had thirteen great days of vacation with our dog in the Bärenhof during the summer holidays. Dog and child friendliness was a given there. Our three-room apartment was comfortable, very clean and ideal for us. The food was very high quality and always extremely tasty. We looked forward to it every day. The area is perfect for holidays with dogs. There is also a billiards table, a table football table and a dart board, which we were happy to use. The hikes, especially the guided ones, and the other excursion options were great. We will be happy to come back. Everything is right here, including the price-performance ratio.

In this large area, our dog feels like a lioness in Berlin, so comfortable. The bathing pond turns a man into a princess, spring water whoever loves it. The staff and the family are very, very friendly and helpful to people and animals. The food is very, very good. Stayed in the old farmhouse, these rooms are clean and great.We will definitely come here again.

It was our second stay at the Bärenhof and again wonderful. Super warm owners, great landscape, excellent food, beautiful rooms - all-round carefree holiday with your dog 😊 Have been there in autumn and summer and can recommend both.For the dogs there is a play area with a course, a dog shower, they can be there everywhere (e.g. in the restaurant) and all the hiking recommendations were also great. A special highlight was the guided hike again, last time with a climb to Lusen ⛰️, this time to a beautiful lake in the Czech Republic 🥾🌳 Our conclusion: We will definitely be back next year!!😊

It's just fantastic and you can really relax 🥰The area is a dream for hiking and yes, something for everyone 🥰🥰🥰and the Bärenhof with its team is great 🥰You can also book massages with everything involved.With Eva Blöchl, she is a very sensitive person with a good feel for people.
