We have enjoyed coming to this hotel for over 10 years and always feel very comfortable. We stay at the hotel at least once a year, and there have been years where we have been there three times. In winter we also like to ski in the area. We are always very satisfied 😀. The owners are very nice and friendly, the rooms are very nice and always clean. The food is TOP and actually deserves more than 5 stars ☺️. Beautiful hotel with its own butcher shop, nice wellness offerings, from sauna to fitness area to a beautiful pool. In the neighboring house there is a table tennis table and a billiards table. The Bavarian Forest always offers new attractions. There is a lot you can do here. Highly recommended in Bodenmais are the Silberberg, the Arber and the large and small Arbersee, boat trips in Passau, St. Engelmar leisure park, the glass village in Arnbruck, the Schwellhäusl in Bayrisch Eisenstein, Joschka Glas in Bodenmais, as well as free train travel with the guest card . All in all: We feel very comfortable in the hotel and in the surrounding area 😀. Keep it up ☺️👍, we’ll always be happy to come back.

We have been coming to the country inn for several years, twice a year, and are completely satisfied.The rooms are very nice and clean, the food and the breakfast buffet are excellent and special requests are addressed immediately.The owners are warm and extremely concerned about the well-being of their guests.I definitely cannot understand Ms. Anja Rittirsch's negative rating of 3 stars and, in my opinion, it does not correspond to the facts. You might think the lady was in another hotel or just wanted to relieve her frustration.For us, this country inn is 100% recommended

The Tremml/Arbinger family runs the hotel professionally. The service was also friendly and accommodating. Special requests and/or allergies were taken into account and I was offered alternatives.The breakfast is very opulent and there is plenty of everything.We had booked half board and were served food from the in-house butcher shop.Wellness is very important in this house. There are various saunas, a whirlpool, a well-equipped fitness room and the special highlight outside in the garden: a covered and attractive outdoor pool.We will definitely come back again.

Family-run inn with its own butcher shop and hotel. The rooms are modernly furnished, a generous breakfast with products from the butcher's shop, the restaurant offers Bavarian cuisine at reasonable prices, everything is highly recommended. We had a good time and will spend our next vacation in the upper inn again.

I would like to say a few words about the butcher shop. I come from the Bavarian forest myself and life took me to Hesse. The meat products are regional and excellently prepared. My favorite product is smoked meat. You can order the products online and have them delivered to the rest of the world

The friendly atmosphere, the fulfillment of our special wishes and the delicious food have always impressed us. This family-run hotel is a real insider tip. The room was very clean, new and spacious, suitable for disabled people and can also be booked with a dog with an additional payment of 10 euros per dayHowever, if we wanted to eat we had to go into the next building and therefore climb a slope with a wheelchair, unfortunately not suitable for disabled people! Not to mention the spa, which is also very difficult for wheelchair users to use as there are steps there too.The reception was very emotionless, there was no sense of friendliness! Unfortunately, this lasted the entire stay.Breakfast was initially very economical (there was a large group of guests there) and was only topped up with 2-3 rolls or a few slices of sausage, so not really! The sausage didn't always look fresh! Later the breakfast got better, so you couldn't complain! Unfortunately there was no cappucino available, just coffee from a machine (not really tasty).On Sundays there were rolls that had been baked, i.e. not fresh!On Sunday! In the afternoon we wanted to have coffee and cake. Absolute disaster, warmed coffee in the microwave (they heard it ringing and it tasted the same) cost 3.80 euros!!!! and as cake we were offered a narrow piece of dry cake with chocolate icing, which you can buy prepackaged for a maximum of 3 euros. We didn't want this.On the day of arrival we had dinner there (5.30 p.m. and only guests had ordered, maybe too early?), unfortunately the fries were not fully fried and were still half raw and my schnitzel was gray and dry all around and didn't taste good at all, I suspect that it was in The butcher's shop didn't sell it that day, it went back into the deep fryer in the kitchen and was sold to me as Wiener Schnitzel. I let it go back completely, expressed my suspicions to the waitress and that this was the reason why I was letting it go back, the only answer I got was a snippy “it was freshly prepared”I wasn't offered a new dish and I had to pay the full price, absolute disgrace!!!!! This is not how you treat guests, especially house guests!!!From then on it was clear to us that we wouldn't be eating there anymore, which was a real shame!The surrounding area is very scenic, but very deserted. It's wonderful for hiking.Unfortunately, Zwiesel is now a dead town. Deggendorf can be recommended as the next town.Bigger and yet smallShops about 8 km away in Regen. There is also a delicious Greek and Italian restaurant there!ConclusionRoom greatBreakfast good, if there aren't many guests there I don't recommend the innAn option in summer when there are more things to do and the outdoor swimming pool can be used

We were there for a good week. We are totally thrilled 😊. The ambience was great and the food was excellent. Dog could come too. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but the pool made up for it.
